As a Florida resident, Cat 1s and TS don't bother me so it's kinda of wacky to see just how much its messing with things up there. Hell, down here we just look at the news and think, "Let me know when it's a Cat 5, otherwise go away"

Well, it was also the size of Europe. The storm was fucking epicly huge. Plus, the northeast almost never gets hurricanes. To compare this hurricane to recent ones in the past, they had to use one from 1990ish and 1985

From the beginning I was thinking it would be bad as it was here for these guys, Just have a good generator w/ gas and you're set until power is restored. Was so fucking hot here after the tornado mess.

What a shitty hurricane, the center it was supposed to pass right over this town but I didn't even have to close the windows. I guess it dissipated fast

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

outta curiosity, are there parts of NY without power? friend is lvling with us in WoW called him to wake him up 'cause he's a slacker, then I thought maybe he's got no power to begin with. He lives in Brooklyn.

Washington Heights in Manhattan here and everyone around us has power. We're also 200 feet above sea level though. I'm sure some of the areas downtown and along the rivers had power shut off because of the flooding (all of Manhattan's power lines run underground).

I tried to walk down to the Delaware river last night but turned back when parts of my town where in shin-deep water (I eventually made it going an alternate route, and it was boring) The whole fifteen hours without electricity was annoying tho

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that we're safe and where we are didn't get hit nearly as hard as the projections suggested. Just wasn't as all what I was expecting after spending 4 days dealing with people in panic.

Where do you live at Rocl? I'm in Florence Twp right on the Delaware river. It wasn't nearly as bad here as some places I'm hearing about. That pic of Belmar.. God damn. We had like 3 poles down and 3 or 4 trees.

Power went out here last night around 9:00pm, which totally fucked my shop vac'ing for the night in the basement. Had to let it go until this morning when the power came back on at 10 am. Never had this much water down here, this indoor/outdoor rug is gunna be dryin' out for days.

my profile lies since I'm at home and not at school now, I live right across the river from Burlington, in Pennsylvania not New Jersey :d
I think I saw a few trees down last night, maybe 3? definitely 2. wasn't catastrophic but annoying. the places with flooding were along the old Delaware canal path, it's notoriously bad during rain anyways

Ah burlington is basically 2 mins south of me. I live across the river from the Tullytown Dump lol. I haven't seen the river yet but I haven't heard of any flooding from that in town or north/south of us sooo.. I dunno. Was a lot better than I thought it was gunna be for my area. Coulda been worse.

Rockland County here, 20miles outside NYC. Lotsa flooding around the county and power outages everywhere. Hope they restore stuff by the evening time.
