no rain anymore light wind damage a lot of houses without power, but mine still has power. Pretty boring wish i got more drunk.
I'm in CT with sort of no power. I have a brown out. So I can't use my pc and no Internet. At least I have running water I guess? This sucks.![]()

VT has been getting hit pretty decently, it's been raining since about in the AMs last night till about 7:30PM. Plenty of roads closed, river(New haven river) is absolutely ridiculous. Like I said the rain stopped recently, now the wind seems to be picking up, I can definitely hear it outside. Lincoln VT got fucked, roads missing, an entire sugar shack I guess floated down the river, so many bridges gone or have water over them. Also, apparently because Lincoln is pretty much inaccessible(even police are having a hard time I was told?), a family has been held up and at gun point, no idea on it's actual validity.
here's some pics if link works:http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/a...espic|umbrella
bristol is 4th pic in.
We've been having brown outs all day, and the power has dropped out completely for a few hours at a time on two occasions that I'm aware of here in upstate NY. The last one was rather annoying to me since the storm had already dithered out pretty much when it happened.
Oh well, did some reading by lantern and took a few extra naps. Nothing serious up here besides a lot of water.
Wind is still whippin around here pretty well.
That approaching picture is a fake. It's actually a picture of a super cell in Florida.
Never lost power here in Newburgh. Woke up and went to work like it ws nothing. We got flooding in a few parts of town that shut down some roads. Was hanging out with some friends earlier and someone sent my friend a picture of someone canoeing where our town mall is. The land there is kind of depressed but I never thought I'd see it flooded like that. Sucks for the people that need to clean it.
Irrelevant Note - I used to live in Washington Heights, pretty much a few blocks from Yeshiva College.
Honestly, as soon I heard Hurricane Irene, the only thing I could think about was this...
I didn't lose power, but a lot of towns near me did. How are things in south Jersey? My brother's wife's old house is about five minutes from me in north Jersey and she lost power. She called PSEG to ask when her family would get power back and the person told her that the way things are looking probably not for 5-7 days. I'm guessing she was given the worse case scenario, but still.
Compared to the rest of CT, especially down by the shoreline, we made out pretty well in Southington. Lost power right at 7:00 AM, and it came back on at 10:00 PM. No major damage at all where I live, and only a few spots of moisture in my basement.
I have a brown out in Waterbury so I assume I won't be restored to full power for at least a week. If I can get my Internet back on I can just use my laptop but who knows when that will even happen...
Also because my fridge is still running but doesnt have enough power to cool things, it's heated and ruined all my food...
<~~~born and raised in the Dirty Water, represent! lol
Buddy of mine who lives off of Cooke St usually has 4 feet of water when it drizzles. Somehow, he ended up with only a couple of inches down there, and never lost power. Hope yours goes back on before too long.
I'm actually dumbfounded that mine came back on so soon. I live in small condo complex of only 75 units on Queen St, and we were the only ones on the entire strip that lost power. I figured we'd be out for 2-3 days at least since it was so isolated.
