Kind of related, I'm looking for something that is better than an 8800GT, but not top of the line, because any top of the line cards, I imagine, would make my CPU (a E6850 3.0GHz c2d) a bottleneck

Something good enough to take out and throw in a new build when I build one would be awesome.

Or maybe I should wait for the new line of cards in December? I dunno. I'm just getting tired of how hot my 8800 runs, and I'm starting to hit the ceiling on what it can support.

I'm totally loving the 6850 HD Radeon I got. Have been able to run WoW, Batman AC, and Aion on ultra with no lag. Runs FF14 on high with no lag either. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102908

Once I get a new mobo next month for me Birthday, going to get another one and Crossfire em

A good, relatively inexpensive choice is a GTX560 or a Radeon 6850. Hell you could even get a GTX460 right now and be set. In all these cases, you could just go the SLI route to upgrade later if you wanted.
