Steve Jobs never does anything without a plan. Worst case scenario he only has weeks/months to live. If true, he would never admit that publicly. Steve and all involved would time his announcement to give them the best possible advantage. That way they can control the fallout for the immediate future. Stating that he will stay on the board of Apple and Disney could be token statements to give a sense of security to investors and the public.

As for the image, I believe it to be genuine. TMZ purchased it from a reputable source for celebrity photos. It looks very similar to photos of say Patrick Swayze before he lost his battle with cancer. Again having gone through my father battling cancer two years ago, gowns like the one seen in the photo are common. During the final stages, it's all about comfort and as hassle free clothing as you can get. My father had something similar that was a modified Snuggie. Cancer is just devastating on every level.

It says right there in the article that he's wearing black shorts and a black long-sleeved shirt.

I didn't want to get too much into it since the thread is about Jobs not Lucas, BUT I mean Lucas did have his shining moments, and those moments were amazing. If it weren't for him there would be no ILM or Skywalker sound, which seem to be connected in some way to about 90% of major films (pure % out of my ass admittedly, but seriously every time I read the credits one or both of them are listed somewhere). But ya as he got older he seemed to get really stuck in his ways. I started giving him a sideways look when he started claiming he always knew and had written the first three episodes from the very beginning which most SW nerds know they added the "Episode IV" vary late in the film just to make the film seem more "exciting" and "in the middle of the action".


I did love SW ep1 though which I know a lot hated. I saw it 4 times opening day lol. Part of that could have been based on sheer excitement over gettign to see another SW film though. XD I didn't much like 2 and 3 though

You still don't get it? Nobody is bashing Jobs, we are just tired of seeing people praise him for stuff he hasnt done. He doesnt deserve the level of adulation he is getting from the public and the media.

It went down 5% the day after the announcement. It went back up after obviously, but if he had died out of nowhere, I think the shock might have been greater.
