Regarding the FINAL FANTASY XI Test Server (08/26/2011)

Tested Comet a little.

Only one sample, eyeballing etc, but still. I'll nuke some more and see what I can find.

Against level 1 mobs with burn on(to try to make sure INT is 0):
Blizzard V: 1605 @ 282 MP
Thunder V: 1672 @ 294 MP
Comet: 1624 @ 367

it appears that comet is slightly better than blizzard V, but due to costing over 100 MP more than Blizzard V, it's fairly worthless, it seems.

The help text says something along the lines of successive attacks by the same spell increase its damage but still I am not that impressed by it.

I mean, the fact that a Sch is able to halve their MP cost every 48 seconds is bad enough when faced with a long fight with little MP regeneration, they shit all over Blms in terms of efficiency. Would it really have been so bad if it was on a 2, hell even a 3 minute timer?

There is another rift in rolan down at E-10 near the lake. Mob was the roc bird. I didnt last too long against it as a solo thief but i could barely hit it.

Not sure if anyone posted, but:

Kaustra did 2700 damage with Cosmos, Ultimate, and MM up -- Yama's Staff +2, Ebullience, Klimaform(both with the applicable AF3+2).

Another thing to note is that while under Ebullience, I didn't notice any dot ticks while I was inside of Abyssea testing it(resetting 2hr is kind a pain to do within Abyssea via the Moogle, so eventually I went into sky via the teleport for quick access). However, without Ebullience, I did notice DoT right away. In Sky, against pots, Kaustra did 400(lol), but even with Ebullience, the DoT kicked in. I wonder if I was just being dumb and didn't notice(I doubt this, the dot tick is quite noticable on Kaustra, even outside of Abyssea when it did 400).

While you're messing around with scholar stuff, could you check and see if you can get Klimaform with Scholar as a subjob? I'm betting no, but I cant check it myself

Well if you try to cast those they should technically say that they can only be cast under TR (kind of like Odin/Alex with AF)

I didn't try casting them: They're blacked out. I just found it odd that they're in the list in the first place as /sch sub, but I guess that's a good point with Odin/Alex.
