Regarding the FINAL FANTASY XI Test Server (08/26/2011)

Are the test server files supposed to reside within the same POL folder your main files are?

Damn thing keeps crashing every time FFXI tries to initialize for the Test Server startup, can't figure out why.

Did you do what I did and dragged the "ffxi" folder into "FINAL FANTASY XI Test Client" instead of its contents? Because that made it crash for me.

Nope. Test client folder pretty much looks like my main FFXI folder, and they're both within the same SquareEnix folder.


From what I've been seeing on oFFXI forums others have been having the same problem.

What about getting to the settings? I don't like it fullscreening on me. I'd also like my macros back...

Tools folder within the Test Client folder.

Macros copy the USER folder over or use the FFXI Menu backup/restore system.

I keep getting a POL error when i click the crystal to go to the <Play> screen. Says to contact SE if the problem persists...thinkin maybe i somehow transferred the unzipped folders to the wrong spot or somethin...any suggestions?

If you loaded POL via the desktop shortcut from the test folder, don't use the FFXI shortcut in the Viewer, it's bugged.

I just use POL normally, you can still log into test server with it, and you don't get the shortcut bug.....which isn't much of a shortcut nowadays anyway.

sweet, it worked (up to the play screen. if i dont rreply more, it worked completely!) and if anyone wants to mess around on test server, look for Cayl

I click on the test gm moogle and select armor. It brings up all the bst pets and ninja tools. Am I missing something?

random question that i think i know the answer to:

If i signed up my main character for the test server, could I log my mule into it or only my main, seeing as I already logged in with it. also, if you have multiple accts on 1 SE ID, can you register both accts for the test server?

You can only choose 1 character, so no mules. Also, while I'm not sure, I don't think multiple accounts will work also? (seeing as you sign from forums using your S-E ID)

I had a feeling it was no to both, but i figured I'd ask. My friend who doesnt play anymore was interested in the test server, so i was gonna have them use a mule of mine or my other account to mess around on it

It's only the one character for the entire SE Account.

Bummed me a bit as I prefer 2box'ing when possible, but both my POL accounts reside on the same SE Account.
