I couldn't be happier about the 3 salvage boss win trial on mythic if that truly is the case. Sure beats the 2000 mobs i had to Expiacion kill for 2 base damage. Now I got the rest of the month to find a group that'll let me go blu . WOE upgrade weapons are only in WOE for 1 stage I wouldn't be surprised if its more KC for the next upgrade. I wouldn't rule out abyssea drops for heavy plates just yet, they added alexandrites to salvage after salvage was released didn't they? Wonder if they gonna add heavy plates to normal mobs and pouches to boss loot pools in abyssea ? (though my money is on WOE , though COP dynamis is another option)

Just throwing numbers around, I'd say 5-8k for BS, 10-15k for KS and 10k for KC. HKC have no real inherent value yet for anyone unless they are upgrading a WoE weapon, but soon they will be for those battles, so it depends on what drops there. Probably also 10~15k. The 3:1 trade would limit how far apart the gil values of the various types could go.

Lol I bet you could bazaar KS pretty decent for all the people making 2nd or more accounts rushing them up so fast in abyssea and not having any for the 2 limit breaks that need them

Interesting question, and actually one that I've considered. I would say 3k for BS, 5~10k for KS, and 3k for KC. Kindred are the most valuable at the moment (you can expect ~20k/seal with high regularity) due to KS99 king pops, but making them sellable would drive the king pop prices down. Beastman Seals and Kindred Crests may be used (at first) to convert to Kindred Seals, but they would later probably be used for BSNMs (Up in Arms and some other good gil ones for 10~15k/seal) and KCNMs (~10k/seal).

The reason that I don't go higher is because the people who would sell Seal/Crests have no interest in doing the fight themselves, and the people buying Seals/Crests generally don't know what their fights are actually worth and will be worried about being unlucky. For instance, I have 300 runs of one BCNM that tell me it's worth 12k/seal at current market prices. 3-man BC and it takes about 45 minutes per three orbs. Still, if I buy my 30 seals at 3k each (90k) I've lost 1/3 of my profits and only made 200k in 45 minutes. That's not such a great profit margin compared to other things I could be doing.

For a while I toyed with the idea of buying BS60 orbs from people for 200k and doing Up in Arms effectively with their seals. I'd lose about 150k per run in the short term, but 50mil for a K-club - 150k * 99 = 35mil profit for 100 runs even assuming only a 1% drop rate. The problem is when you go "Okay so 35 mil / the time it took to do 100 runs = shit gil/hr unless I really really had everything lined up."

Yeah. The baseline for reasonable gil/hr really shifted dramatically with the cruor:gil conversion rate, especially when you consider that you can have a full alliance cruor farming with 15 of the people AFK for the whole time. Then your time:gil rate really just corresponds to how long it took you to convert that cruor into sellable items and then sell them. It's lame when the best way to make gil creates inflation because it adds gil to the server rather than changing hands.

Also, we really rode this topic off the rails, lol.

So, on topic question, does anyone know the stats on final elemental staves? Avatar, magic damage, magic accuracy, any of them. Just curious to see how the upgrades continue.

I wonder if those pouches or those dice are now dropping in Voidwatch and WoE. It was exciting to see ninja updates to the test server though. Here's hoping they are holding stuff back until it is announced for this patch and then patching it in for us to test.

Also what happens when you are like me and you are 0/80 or so on up in arms. That's alot of hours spent actually playing to have lost millions of gil lol

For that matter even at 1% I think I'd make gil faster fishing if you count in the time it takes to get there gear up etc while I can just keep fishing while doing everything else idk

If you're doing it as a method of gil-making, you wouldn't do 80 or 100 runs, you'd be doing a thousand. Eventually you'll see whatever the average is, and the drop rate is probably higher than 1%.

We added Scarlet Delirium as a technical ability that is useful when fighting very strong opponents in new content such as Voidwatch and HNMs.

In many cases, dangerous special abilities and magic that are used by the opponent can be halted by Stun, but there are instances where Stun does not work or cannot be cast due to recast timers. There are also instances where players will have to take the damage from some attacks in order to stop more powerful attacks instead.

With these difficulties and risks involved, instead of raising attack and magic attack stats, damage dealt to the opponent (*1) will receive a direct bonus of certain %(*2).

We have determined that the time period for taking damage while the ability is active at 60 seconds is too short, so we extended the period to 180 seconds.

Also, regarding players’ requests to accumulate the damage received, we thought about this at first, but since this lowers the risk involved, the bonus would have to be reduced in return. Thus, we decided against that and implemented the current specs.

The updated data is now reflected on the Test Server, so give it a shot.

*1 This includes regular attacks in addition to weapon skills.
*2 The maximum limit for this bonus is not 20%. The limit is set much higher, and the closer you are to dying, the more damage is dealt to the opponent.
    lol

Going back to the Empy, Relic, Mythic discussion about upgrading, I don't think I've seen anyone mention this so i thought i throw it out there.

Everyone is talking about how SE is trying to offset the difficulty in obtaining the 95 versions of the weapons, but I could swear I remember SE talking about balancing damage not difficulty.

At the end of the day, it wont matter that the 95 - 99 versions of relic and mythic are easier to obtain, if their damage is still lacking and the 90 version of Empy's are still better weapons over all.

True but until then your up a creek. And of course it might be lower and the price might drop if people start doing that etc.

It's still kinda time consuming which is why I haven't done a run in awhile lol. Though I might now that I have 3 character since there would be alot less running time and such when soloing. Plus 2hring isn't as important then.

Also as far as the whole 95 empyrean I would actually be kinda suprised if there isn't some boost you don't see on the stats. I mean so far the whole way along empyreans just get base dmg until they get to 85 then after that they just get more and a little more stats. Relic/mythic get their meat at 75 and every stage after that get boost to abilities or whatever with the dmg then get a dmg boost at 90 and I guess aftermath upgrade at 95 for mythic. You could argue they are just balancing it but seems odd they wouldn't give empyrean something especifally with the shifting of the difficulty/time consumption on later stages. Who knows maybe more ODD or something. Can only wait and see

No i did say 95 empys wont see a little jump in damage i was referring to the relic and mythics @ 95 and 99, if a relic or mythic will still get out done by empy 90, then you still gonna see all the gimps walking around with 90 empys.

Ugh I hope not. I thought the objective of 90+ endgame content was to get OUT of Abyssea >< Abyssea yellow-procced NM's already drop so many items in their loot pools that I just can't imagine SE putting the 95 magian items here too. My money is on pouches being a fixed drop in Voidwatch Chapter 2 (every personal chest loads a plate or pouch), or else CoP Dynamis.

    1500 x 8 is only 12k heavy plates!!!

anyway just gotta upgrade katana and GS, and then see how it actually goes before i do the rest.....

really cant bring myself to grind 12k even if they are like currency difficulty....

like valisk say, getting 90 version for decent stats (15) and WS is pretty much enough for my sub usage jobs.

hell i dont even feel like L90ing my ukon cos of the price tags on tiger hides

and also...i believe all empy needs heavy plates? if so its going to be massive competition, camping or bazzaring +_+ SE knew this is something to keep us "occupied", and knew the competition is going to be tough...so they add on side-grade stats....but like someone said, its still the gateway to L99 version :X

I only go PLD (cry), and having already tanked stuff for Chapter 2...there's no real need for me to upgrade anything right away so I'll be waiting to see what happens. Everyone here has a valid point regarding whether they will sell or not, what the price will be, etc. At the end of the day, you have a head start if when the servers come up your linkshell has access to Chapter 2 right then. I know on our server, there are like 3, maybe 4 english speaking shells that do VW, so if items do come from there...unless lolsnd keeps doing shout runs, this content will not be accessible by a majority of the server. If that's the case, and drops do come from VW, that's enough to corner the market right there.

If the people doing the event are upgrading their own weapons and not selling right away, then you're looking at a gap between update launch and anyone actually being able to test; what that gap will be depends on drop rate, so at least for that time I'd say prices would be high if you sold. After data comes out, increased ODD/crit rate/WSDMG+/nothing will help determine who will pay and what they'll pay. I will hopefully be funding my Amano :D

Edit: Two other things sort of related. If you missed it, Hiromichi Tanaka is billed as the FFXI Director again (Old school CoP and from what I understand, was the original Director/producer of FFXI). SE has arguably made some recent moves indicating they intend to continue supporting FFXI, maybe a little moreso than what Abyssea was. (2)SE has always tried to make their unpopular events popular by requiring them for something that is popular, and a 1500 plate "grind" would make perfect sense if Tanaka is indeed running the show again. The mobs themselves certainly lend themselves to this theory. Keeping people busy with 1500 plates, 28 new VWNMs, the potential for additional tiers to be released before 99 and 3 more chapters planned past the 95 update is actually a really interesting move for this game. I know plenty of people, and this board included, who may not miss camping kings/tia/etc 24/7, but certainly miss the "hard" fights. The fights you walk into wondering "who's gonna miss that stun and wipe us" or when you win, each time you win, breath a sigh of relief that you actually won.

And from some test data, it seems to be based on the % of HP instead of the actual damage. So if you have 1500 HP, and you take 1000 damage from a single attack, during the duration of the JA, you will have approximately 33% damage boost (1000/1500/2).

It definitely is very interesting and require very good timing, and 3 minutes duration is a welcome change.

Will the Emp upgrade be worth it in the end if you waited and found that the level 99 version Occasionally Deals Triple Damage? I think if the plates are difficult to obtain, the best option will be to wait and see what the level 99's have to offer.

If anything I'll be working to get my almace to 95 (still need 90 tho :\) just for completion, and because I love it so much. I just won't be going batshit crazy over getting 1500 plates. Unless there's some hidden bonuses to WS damage or something though, I don't see how it's anything but a sidegrade atm.
