Think it all just depends on what jobs you have leveled. I carry NIN THF and DNC on me at all times, and because so much of that gear overlaps I have no issues. If I had any mage jobs, it would become a problem.

I came back a couple weeks ago and had actually forgotten Campaign existed until I ended up doing VNM in some of the [S] zones with LS over the weekend.
Actually that's not quite true. I was in a pickup Dom Ops on Friday, and realized where all the Campaign gimps went. NIN/DNC 89/37 ftw.![]()
Were the new spell scroll (Thunder V, Comet, SCH 2HR spell, etc) drop locations ever found or did everyone just get them from the moogle?
Klimaform (AF1) was a scroll, and I don't recall of any instances in FFXI where you're just automatically granted magic temporarily other than Impact.
The two spells shows up on your list on the test server fulltime also. Granted things could change, and perhaps they'll only show when you pop Tabula Rasa.
As for whether there are dats for them, I didn't recall seeing any actual items for it on Julian's mining. Granted the test server is missing a whole lot of stuff in the drops department.
Merit spells don't have scrolls, and show up in your list fulltime. There's also no scroll dat mined for them. (See: http://www.juliandev.com/augtest/UsableItems.txt)
ermmm so is location of getting the item needed for limit break found on test server? was sick last 4 days lying on bed ._.
Oneiros Headgear, for one (INT+6, M.acc-6, MAB+6). Alternatively, augmented Zenith Crown +1 (INT+5 from base stats, MAB+5, Magic Crit Rate +5 from augs, or a lucky augment with extra INT as well).
The proc rate and average damage gained from the BLM set bonus are sufficiently low that removing one or two pieces for a significant stat boost like the one above is definitely worthwhile. Unless I'm seeing resists, which is fairly rare with capped skill/merits on BLM, the head is just a fast cast swap for me.
Another decent trade-up is in the leg slot, Valkyrie's Trews with augment (MAB+5/M.acc+5/Enm-3 base, augmented with up to MAB+4, Ele skill+5, for a total of MAB+9/M.acc+5/Ele+5/Enm-3, or, again, some lucky augment with INT).
Empyrean+2 hands, body, and feet are best-in-slot as far as I know so you still maintain partial set bonus with 3/5 or 4/5 if you keep legs (the time it would take to obtain Valkyrie's Trews and then find enough tatters to get a capped augment on them makes it kind of silly to go for considering how easy it is to finish empyrean stuff).
Probably this. All BLM spells since 75 cap have been sold from that one NPC in Windurst(S). For the first few months anyway it's cheaper than buying from AH. Expect to pay about 800k in total for new BLM spells going by NPC prices of the current spells.
For WHM spells the NPC in Rabao has had a few of the new ones.
I don't think they added any spells/songs/ninjutsu for any job since 75 that weren't also available from NPCs. RDM ones were from stupid NPCs (Mhaura, stupid mithra kid in Ru'Lude), but they're all on some NPC somewhere afaik.
Difference is hardly a really small margin, 8 INT vs 6 INT 6 MAB. But yeah I agree that the +2 hat has so much more going for it than you would probably want to use it against anything resistant, especially if they do away with magic acc on staves as they threatened to.
By small margin I meant set bonus. Going from 5 to 4 pieces of af3+2 is probably going from 25% to 15%. 10% from 25% is about 2.5%. 2.5% for avg +75% damage is around 1.8% overall and that's at least equal to 2-3MAB. So the difference is about 2-3MAB for everything is posted in last post. No way I would use oneiros even for trash mobs. I would rather wear full af3+2 for mp efficiency rather than my spell doing 1% more damage.
Was the bonus to a Phantom Roll's XI ever discerned?
yea last patch, you dont get the bust effect while under an 11, timer is cut in half aswell
