Yes, the +3s will be oriented around augmenting merit abilities and stats.

So I was looking at the ffxi roadmap again today (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/at...8&d=1319106837) and saw some test server adjustments scheduled for mid November: VW Chapter III continued, synth skill cap adjustments, and new magian trials. Have these been reflected yet on the test server? If so, to what extent?

New Magian trials have appeared (the armors), but not the other ones as far as I know. Assuming the (5?) new Voidwatch monsters they released are the beginning of Chapter 3, anyway.

Hopefully going to see another update tomorrow to add whatever they haven't added yet and finish adding what they have. Maybe see this update hit live servers by early december. :C

Assuming Vagus meant AF2 (Relic), since it's the only class of armor at present without an English translation..

Relic: What drops in Dynamis
Relic +1: What you get by upgrading using the -1 gear that drops in CoP Dynamis
Relic +2: First tier of new Relic upgrade system that was just added to the test server. You can upgrade either Relic or Relic +1 into Relic +2.
Relic +3: The second tier of relic upgrade that is expected sometime in the future (within the next few months).

Wait a second. Are you telling me that you can +2 without +1? So that -1 farming and upgrade to +1 is totally useless?

The requirement for +1 to +2 is 20 of something, from 0 to +2 is 50 of something. You don't need to do the +1, but if the something needed to upgrade is somewhat expensive it might be worthwhile depending on the piece. I've started saving various -1 from dyna waiting for it.

Arent they lowering the wait time? Plus nothings guaranteed to drop. We been doing Tav for weeks, and finally just saw our first SCH Body -1 and PLD Body -1 this week.

Well it could certainly be worthwhile to save those. Assumptions that they're useful are just as valid as assumptions that they aren't, only time will tell.

1600 file update on the test server. Only things I see right away are the log resizing and macros. The magian moogles are all jacked up. The JP client probably has all the infos. They still didnt add the english descriptions for the new BPs.

Forgive my skepticism, but I find 3 100 coins to upgrade a piece of AF2 very extreme, even for SE.

Considering you can solo 300 currency pretty easy in 2 days that's not bad. Although I'm sure it will be a challenge to walk out with 50 currency with all the competition if this is true. JIC it is true I logged on for the first time in a week and snatched up 40mil in currency =P
