I still haven't had a chance to go back and test the timing of wyvern HP+ equipment for Steady Wing, but given that the buff is a stoneskin effect (depletable damage buffer) I would confidently guess that it is dependent on HP values at the time of activation. To get the most of of it you would equip all of your wyvern HP equipment and use Steady Wing without recovering wyvern HP to max. As a rule, following that method a piece of equipment with Wyvern: HP +X would grant (0.2X + X) points of stoneskin. Makes me sad that I tossed my Chanoix's Gorget after getting a Lancer's Torque. That would be an extra 60 stoneskin right there.

Surely whatever modifications to the weaponskills se has in mind will only be on the lv95 version.

Just so you guys know, there are generic pages made for (all?) the new job abilities and spells on bgwiki. Septimus also made a {{Test Server}} tag, as you can see here, which should be tossed onto any page that contains unofficial information obtained from the Test Server.

One question for Xanthe! You guess that the formula for stoneskin granted by Steady Wing would be:
Stoneskin Damage Absorbed = (Base HP * .2 + HP from Gear)

Just offhand, I would guess it to be:
Stoneskin Damage Absorbed = (Base HP + HP from Gear)*.2

Did your testing indicate the first option over the second?

Steady wing adds any HP the wyvern is below full to the stoneskin amount, so the first formula is correct (Unless for some reason you used spirit link after putting HP gear on your wyvern.) It's been tested with 1k needles.

    Okay, so it's:
Base HP*.2 + (Max HP - Current HP)

I suppose I should clarify. The way Steady Wing functions is exactly as Camate stated on the official forum as verified by my testing:

    The amount of damage nullified:
In instances where the wyvern’s HP is full: 20% of the wyvern’s max HP
In instances where the wyvern’s HP is not at max: 20% of the wyvern’s max HP + the amount of HP lost.
By equipping wyvern HP equipment before using Steady Wing you are accomplishing two things.
    1. You are increasing your max wyvern HP.
    2. You are artificially causing your wyvern to have "lost" HP because equipped items don't increase current HP to max HP. The game doesn't distinguish between this state and HP lost from damage taken.

Going from the above I was able to conclude that in addition to the 0.2 * Max HP (not enhanced by items or other bonuses), each Wyvern HP+ item equipped prior to using steady wing will provide an additional (0.2 * Item HP) + Item HP. This accounts for the increase of your max HP as well as the "lost" HP going from base to new max HP. My previous formula broke down the calculation so it's easier to see what portion is coming from equipment, but it was a little confusing as such.

Drachen Brais [+1], Wyvern Exp Bonus, Atma, and Abyssite HP can be calculated in a similar fashion, adding the bonus percents together and multiplying them by the raw Steady Wing bonus.

Here's a good way to represent the formula with a combination of equipment and percentage bonuses.
    Code:
Raw Bonus: Sum of all integer HP bonuses
Percentage Bonus: Sum of all percentage HP bonuses
Max HP: floor((Base HP + Raw Bonus) * (Percentage Bonus))

Steady Wing nullification: floor(Max HP * 0.2) + (Max HP - Current HP)

    E.g.:

    Base HP: 1290
    Current HP: 1290

    Homam Gambieras: +50
    Wyvern Mail: +65
    Lancer's Pelerine: +30
    Lancer's Earring: +20
    Raw Bonus: +165

    Drachen Brais +1: +15%
    Wyvern Exp Bonus: +30%
    Percentage Bonus: +45%

    Max HP: floor((1290 + 165) * 1.45) = 2109

    Steady Wing nullification: floor(2109 * 0.2) + (2109 - 1290) = 421 + 819 = 1240

Again with Current HP = Max HP:

    Steady Wing nullification: floor(2109 * 0.2) + (2109 - 2109) = 421 + 0 = 421

And again with a critical Current HP value of 1:

    Steady Wing nullification: floor(2109 * 0.2) + (2109 - 1) = 421 + 2108 = 2529

    My test case from yesterday:

    Base HP: 1290
    Current HP: 1290
    Raw Bonus: +30
    Percentage Bonus: +0%
    Max HP: 1320

    Steady Wing nullification: floor(1320 * 0.2) + (1320 - 1290) = 264 + 30 = 294
As you can see the true power of Steady Wing comes out when Current HP is much lower than Max HP.

Okay, excellent! That means the formula can be simplified to:
Stoneskin HP Negated = Max Wyvern HP * 1.2 - Current Wyvern HP

Yep, that checks out with my data. I still need to verify that the nullification value is indeed calculated at activation, but I'm all but certain that is the case.

SE should have added this last patch at level 65 so that this patch we could have gotten new breaths or jumps. I mean SE has no qualms about giving SAM an ability at 65 last patch and a new JA this patch.

    Testing from Tsuko:

"In regard to Decoy Shot, quick testing(more will be done later in the day) indicates that its a full CE transfer to the person between the target and the RNG. VE seems unaffected."

Don't remember seeing it mentioned, the damage enhancement bonus on Comet is exactly the same as for the -ja spells (+5% per cast).

They finally fixed the centering on the on-screen battle messages. Previously the centering was dependent on the rendering buffer resolution (i.e. "Background). The higher the resolution, the more off center they would get. Seems they finally noticed this once they made the supersampling trick officially supported by FFXI's config tool (you wouldn't notice this unless you edited the resolution in the registry to be higher than what was officially supported until last update)
Now if only they'd fix the glow effect in the game (Avatars, Fluxs, etc) turning into edge filters on anything above 480p.

They should change the avatar glow back to what it was before Fenrir was released, it looked much, much better back then. It was a sort of otherworldly distortion effect on the model not an edge glow. I think they changed it because too many avatars on screen caused severe framerate drop on really shitty PCs.

Back then I was using a Geforce3 which was less than the minimum specs and it didn't cause me any problems so whatever PCs they were talking about must have been pretty bad.

CE from just the WS or total CE?

You talking about the old effect where it shimmered about three faint versions of the avatar blended in behind with the real one? I miss that. Don't know why they didn't just make it a checkbox under the FFXI config tool.

No plugins, but still better then the core windowed mode from SE.
Can I use scripted macros with this version or am I still stuck to the 6 line standard ones?
