The only acceptable American adaptation of a British show I have ever seen is The Office.

Well, apparently the only good thing about it is the 2 British characters. The US ones all fail and the show has gone to shit since moving to the US and getting Starz (a US company) involved. So good game.

That reminds me, is that Showtime series any good? I saw the commercials and shit for it before it aired but being that I never watch TV... I never actually checked it out.

main reason: it was advertised as a new "original" series on starz. they did well with spartacus, not so hot with camelot, this was kind of the tiebreaker. after this fucking abomination, i'm pretty set on not ever watching anything starz puts out ever again.

It's not an adaptation.
It's the 3rd season of a British show, and the third season is "originally" produced by Starz (i.e. not a repeat) because the BBC was getting kinda douchey about funding Torchwood.

idk what all this stuff is btw but I know my parents really like this "torchwood: miracle day" thing.
I watched some of it with them last week while I was over there and it didn't seem bad but I don't really watch much TV so I'm sure that's all of it that I'll see.
