thx calli this is really helpful to have information like this all in one place since I haven't had a lot of time to sit down with the game yet

I'm assuming you'll have good enough execution to pull of the real stuff lol, I'm trying to just get some beginner stuff out there. I'm waiting for a bit more detail about how exactly throws affect IPS and I'll give info on that too.
I'm not sure, but it felt like you couldn't restand at all, even with different starters it seemed to trigger, but I could have just goofed something up, that's what I need to confirm.
For those of you still iffy on how IPS works, it's basically as follows:
IPS is made to recognize loops(not infinites themselves, but infinites are comprised of loops, so eliminating loops by extension gets rid of the infinites). IPS keys off of the first attack of each string you perform, with ground and aerial portions of combos being separated as different strings. It will allow you to repeat the same combo starter once during the first two strings, but after that repeating an input as a string-starter will allow your opponent to burst out.
For example, if I begin a string with s.lp, and chain it into a launch, then follow with j.lp > aerial chain, I've done two separate strings. Assuming I can restand the enemy, I can begin a string with s.lp again, but after that point I cannot repeat another starting input. When I chain into the second launcher, I must use something other than j.lp to begin the second air string. As Thul noted, throws advance you to the end stage of IPS and you cannot repeat any string starters whatsoever. Standing inputs and crouching inputs to count as separate moves, so you can use s.lp, c.lp, s.lk, and c.lk all in the same combo and continue from there. Assuming you can be focused enough to not repeat a starter, generally your combo will tend to naturally die off anyways as you'll run out of viable restand strings and have to use a knockdown/otg or special ender at one point or another, unless you have a specific assist to help you out with the restands(this is something I'm curious to see some testing on standing normals used as custom assists for, something multi-hitting like Valentine's s.mk).
There are still a couple inconsistencies here and there I need to test, but that's the system in a nutshell.
I dont know about these crazy combos and shit, looks foreign to me, I just wanna know how to put Ms. Fortunes head back on. Although I like that I can roll the bitch around and disrupt people
O, I've picked it back up a few times by accident, thank you. For awhile there, if I threw it, that's where it stayed for the rest of the match. Trying to beat Marie right now, I'll play anyone on psn : ruffrydasean
I'll get it for Xbox when I get paid, I'm not the greatest at fighters, probably not even average, but I'm having fun with it
Should be a male patch or something; those look awesome, especially that mischievous face on everyone's favorite cat-boy.
I guess it's old news by now, but resets are really strong in this game. Since you can't crouch tech, you have to try to tech by standing grab, or you block low. So if you have a reset set up, you basically have a 50/50 chance to double your damage every time you land a combo.
This close to throwing my controller through the tv. Fuck the final boss with a niggery aids dick. I had 50% health, she had had like 2%, she still kills me. Fuckin peacocks laser special shit just leaves me open and I can't get in close to hit her.... Spammy ass bitch.
But maybe I need to learn to use peacock better
Edit: I beat that bitch!
It's easy beating Marie using Peacock. At the final stage you just need to block and use HP item drop and chip her to death.
I ended up jumping and using the shotgun to her face a few times, fuck chipping.
Trying with painwheel now, I just wanna see the ended scenes for all of the characters. Sure I could put it on easy, but screw that.
Marie is easy on Peacock, but that Peacock mirror fucking sucks lol
Our grand finals from Saturday featured most everything that could go wrong with a match of Skullgirls, lol
lol.... dat xbox 360 pause.
"Peacock going back fullscreen to start her bullshit again" was my fav part lol
that was TheBlackrose on commentary for the record, and me as the barely audible guy yapping in the background...we only had one $8 Logitech desktop mic to work with lol
As boring/annoying it is for me to watch peacock zone out chars, matches were pretty cool.. especially that one long painwheel/parasoul combo towards the end
And I particularly like the ending of this video ;o
