I'm still pissed at SEGA for holding back Anarchy Reigns for no reason. Shit could have been released in what was essentially a dry month for games, but nope..., they had to push it back to 2013.
Platinum should just go ask SquareEnix for some money. SE seem to be doing good with other third-party developers as of the past couple years.
Treyarch has said that CoD Bops2 runs in 1080p/60fps on the Wii U, haven't seen any confirmation from Nintendo though. They haven't really said anything about it's capabilities actually.
That's most likely why they split up the RAM - 1 gb to the OS (and gamepad?) and 1gb for the gfx stuff. We wont' know for sure until someone gets their hands on one and takes it apart. Not to mention that the Wii U will probably be diverting a chunk of resources to the GamePad in a lot of titles, which probably won't be the case for the others.
The link I put there quotes a Nintendo rep confirming that first-party titles shown thus far are 720p native. Doesn't mean everything is - there are (a few) 1080p native titles on the 360 and PS3 too - but it does seem to indicate it won't be the standard resolution. At least not out of the gate. In events Nintendo said it would be 1080p capable, but as we know from current consoles, that can often just mean "will upscale to".
Could be, hard to say as Nintendo specified it as "system memory" and "game memory" from what I've seen. Could also mean that they have a lot of RAM dedicated to running the Miiverse crap in the background. All I mean is that the GamePad has basically no computing power of its own, yet it has an 854x480 screen to fill with data (so, basically, widescreen Wii resolution). If the system is running something fancy on the GamePad, it'll be eating into what the system can be putting up on the main screen, not just in terms of RAM but what the CPU and GPU are processing. They said adding a second Gamepad to a game running 60fps with one would halve the framerate. That's most likely why they split up the RAM - 1 gb to the OS (and gamepad?) and 1gb for the gfx stuff. We wont' know for sure until someone gets their hands on one and takes it apart.
It's just harder to tell right now. I'm sure developers will have the option to just ignore the GamePad if they want/need to as well. They probably will once cross-platform ports aren't a matter of adding bells and whistles to software designed around 6-7 year old hardware.

Bayonetta 2 ‘would not exist without Nintendo’
"We were looking for a partner to create Bayonetta 2."
Bayonetta 2 would not exist without Nintendo, according to Platinum Games executive director Atsushi Inaba.
“We are not viewing this as a change of platform,” he told The Verge at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. “We were looking for a partner to create Bayonetta 2 and Nintendo was a strong, cooperative partner that was willing to create and grow Bayonetta 2 together [with us]. As a result the platform became the Wii U.”
The first Bayonetta launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. Its sequel is a Wii U-exclusive. In a statement following Bayonetta 2‘s announcement, Platinum said it does not wish to ‘alienate’ its fans.
Regarding gameplay mechanics, Inaba said that the platform shift would not effect the game’s core method of play.
“We create the basic framework of our games on the PC, so even though the hardware changes it doesn’t influence the creation of our games. We’ve already developed our own engine to work with multiple platforms.
“Because of the Wii U GamePad, we are putting extra thought into how to use these differentiating features. There’s a difference in the game design side, but we are enjoying the challenges of creating games for new hardware.”
A release date for Bayonetta 2 is unannounced.
I really don't know why they didn't release that statement as their press release instead of that bullshit filled one they did a few days ago. Sure, most people realized that was why it was Nintendo exclusive, but it was stupid of them to pretend otherwise. Though I'm still not really sure why they decided to do a direct sequel and call this game "2" given that 1 wasn't on wii and 2 wont be on ps3/xbox.
Because its part 2? Not that hard of a concept to grasp bro.
Because "2" was already long in development before it was even a thought to team up with Nintendo.
Exactly. And correct, it is not a hard concept to grasp. Not hard at all.
Which in itself seems to be the problem with games/films now a days. People are so quick to make sequels they aren't even sure will/can happen for the hopeful chance at a quick cash-in. That's not a "PG+" problem though, that's a problem with the entire system.
meh, w/e
Sega was going to publish it when they started to make it but along the way, Sega was losing a lot of money and canned a lot of games they were publishing to focus on only a select few.
Stop deflecting my rage!
(though I'm not really angry about this anymore. Still disappointed though.)
Might as well have dropped the 2 and named it Bayonetta: Fuck You.
Don't you mean Fuck U?
Nah. DmC is FUCK YOU territory.
You act like you are physically unable to purchase a WiiU ever.
I have no interest in the system. How many times do people have to explain this?
It's just that some people can't fathom not liking a Nintendo system.
