    Help with Yellowjackets

Anyone have any experience dealing with them? I was cutting the grass and the little fuckers swarmed me. I tried using the spray shit but I can't get close enough to the hole in the ground to fire it all the way in. I'm thinking of doing a controlled burn on our hillside but it's so dry here that I'm worried the hillside is going to catch. Any alternate ways of wiping these little shits out without the possibility of burning down the neighborhood?

    burning down the neighborhood?
That's just a risk you'll have to take.

You just have to spray them, but its a process. You can kill them faster then they can reproduce, so just spray the air and slowly make your way forward. Once youre at the nest, drop the nuke and GTFO.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

get an old sheet, some gloves and swim goggles. use the sheet to cover your body and seal your shoes/gloves with ducttape and cut holes in the sheet for eyes and put goggles over the holes.

Napalm would also be quite effective, screw the neighbors you need those things dead as of yesterday.

Don't go with all that green bullshit. Put on a long sleeved shirt / long pants and dump a quart of waste oil (like the oil from your lawn mower) down the hole.

I put a hose to them and drowned them out before. One article in Google search says to pour a half gallon of kerosene in the hole at night when they are less active. Then cover the hole with a cloth and some dirt. Let the fumes of the alcohol kill them.

You have a few options for dealing with those little bastards. Short of firebombing, the least productive method.

I suggest you turn on the sprinkler and toss it near their nest first, but then you want your poison.

I love this stuff http://www.agorganics.com/products/W...ee/12/111.html You can stand like 15 feet away and arc it towards the nest it smells good and you will solve your problem.

You should be able to buy it at home depot or whatever bigbox hardware joint is near you.

    GOOD LUCK

The problem with spays is that they work best for the above ground wasps. The ground wasps might have a nest that is several feet underground and the tunnel may start down and angle up to help prevent flooding.

The problem with traps is that they only get the forager wasps, not the queens or larvae.

Yeah, the scent they use is literally crack for Yellow Jackets (Phermone of some kind). I used it at our old house and it would fill up once a week with Yellow Jackets and the occasional Wasp/Hornet.

It's also better for underground nests as it draws them out. Sprays are way dangerous (if you have an allergy or something) to try to dump into the hole.

The fastest way i have found although not environmentally friendly is take a gallon of gas sneak up to the hole and pour and don't stop until it's empty a single one shouldn't make it out of the nest if done this way.
