sigh, why can't they let me keep some of my money. This looks awesome as long as they let you pick your audio language.
kinda glad the new character looks fucktarded because I don't need a reason to buy a vita. I just got on the goddamn PSP bandwagon (damn you tactics ogre!!), give me a break!
in all seriousness this is pretty cool but nothing to get me uber-excited. need more info on the new content before the gamer sense will start tingling. and the cynic in me can't stop drawing comparisons between squenix's FF-whoring and atlus's SMT-whoring... I guess it's ok as long as we don't end up with Persona III-2 Xth Versus Demon Summoner Platinum Complete Edition.
Has Atlus ever preserved the original voice work in their localizations? Don't get your hopes up.
In fairness to both companies there are some real gems amongst their library of portable re-releases. P3P is great and FF4 DS is amazing. These aren't half-assed cash ins by any measure.the cynic in me can't stop drawing comparisons between squenix's FF-whoring and atlus's SMT-whoring
haven't played P3P (though I plan on it - see the what are you playing thread!) but I will grant you that FFIV DS is a legitimate remake and not a cheap cash-in. it's one of the best, if not THE best, of the FF remake crop.
FFIII DS is also underrated, though they could have done more to make it accessible to the current generation of gamers.
FF3 DS's big problem was that it was FF3.
Definitely getting this, but pretty sad that they already are jumping and announcing Persona 5. I'm guessing we aren't going to get SMT IV for a long time. (Strange Journey does not count)
Well yeah they are going to milk the Persona series as Atlus' new madden. I just hope they don't forget that they have other fans that actually want other games in the SMT universe than the Persona series. P3/4 owe their existence to SMT III: Nocturne (same exact engine but modified obviously) so it's surprising to not see a main SMT game as the first step into the next gen console launch. I am sure they want to make SMT IV as epic as possible. GET ON IT R&D1 we don't need Etrian Odyssey to overlap the SMT series.
Excuse me, FF3 was an amazing game. The original NES one, anyway.
(And the remake was much better than the ff4 one if you ask me.)
Dammit the resist to throw this off topic is too much.. but where are the FFV and VI DS remakes?![]()
seriously, we need SMT IV on the PS3. Nocturne was one of the PS2's most beautiful games, and the story was among the best I've ever had the pleasure of playing through. plus the battle system and demon fusion was addicting as always (hard mode onry baby).
off-topic, there will be no remakes of FFV and VI because Squenix doesn't know what the fuck. sad but true.
Everyone needs to take notes, this man knows what's up. If you haven't played SMT:III Nocturne yet, you absolutely need to.
SMT IV on PS3 would probably be as groundbreaking as SMT III was when it hit PS2. I know it didn't get a crazy fan reception here in the US being the first official SMT title to be brought over as is. But just seeing all those old SMT I/II references in the game, the new alignment system, full 3-D cel shaded graphics. Dante from DMC hunting you down and even joining your party later, this must have fucking blown the minds of Japanese fans that loved the original games.
Right now I am playing it on a backwards compatible PS3 in High Def, and I am still stunned at how good it looks. Hard mode in first person the entire playthrough, only way to go.
I am so excited right now. Gotta buy a Vita I guess!
I started to play Nocturne, but I got bored. >_>
It's near the top-ish of my to play list, so it may be a few years.
A lot of people are turned off by SMT III because it is considered extremely difficult, there is no voice acting and you aren't spoonfed story like the newer SMT games. Honestly with how good the challenge is, it only makes getting that bit of epic story much better. You won't really get much out of the storyline until you plunge yourself down deep in the Labyrinth of Amala, there you will literally get your answers. All I can say is go with the True Demon Ending and you won't be disappointed.
Nocturne time?

Slightly off topic, but ive been playing nocturne on the ps3 and the audio seems, idk muffled? is that normal?
