To add to what Thulius said, Liz can get out of a lot of other characters' rushdown by just mashing her reversal throw (B+D). You don't really get any damage off of it, but it's invincible, has a ton of range, pushes the opponent out to fullscreen and causes a status effect. If the opponent is smart enough to jump over it, you might have to avoid using it too much, but if they keep getting hit by it, just keep doing it.

Don't worry about cheesing anything out; if it's working, keep doing it till it stops working. A win's a win.

Whats a good trick to get up past a Naoto that wont leave the back edge of the screen and just shoot at you?

Dashing only gets me so far...

You can superjump forward while holding back to airblock projectiles while still covering decent ground forward.

Depends on the character too. Yu can get in on Naoto pretty fucking fierce between dodges, footsies 5B or 2A+B and 214+A ( > OMC > dash jA jB). Yukiko can zone her right back. If she's shooting carelessly at an Elizabeth? IK her ass.

In general, jump forward while blocking works as well.

Yeah, guess I'm gonna switch to Labrys permanently, I actually like her. Comparatively, there's fuck all information about SLab, almost no one plays her lol.

the best advice is to wait for them to blow the super shot at the end of their bullets (the 5th shot?) they have considerable recovery after this which should give you a moment to advance

Having fun cranking up COM level in training and just learning defense. I am tired of being Kanji's ragdoll. Gotta learn to counter him. Pretty fun and I am only on 65 or so COM. 100 will be silly.

    Interesting... from srk: http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php...2#post-7358217

There are 6322 people who have played P4A on Xbox Live. Remember that this data covers all XBL players in all regions, but is XBL - the less popular console for the game.
Of them, 32 have completed Score Attack. Kanji is the most commonly used character to perform this feat.

The percentages shown are out of 6322. They will add up to more than 6322 because it is possible to play more than one character.
1556 have played Narukami in an online match. (24.6%)
    1327 have played Chie. (21%)
    1022 have played Akihiko. (16.2%)
    870 have played Elizabeth. (13.8%)
    802 have played Mitsuru. (12.7%)
    792 have played Labrys. (12.5%)
    728 have played Yukiko. (11.5%)
    708 have played Kanji. (11.2%)
    707 have played Yosuke. (11.2%)
    587 have played Naoto. (9.3%)
    561 have played Teddie. (8.9%)
    496 have played Aigis. (7.8%)
    304 have played S.Labrys. (4.8%)

For most characters, approximately 16-17% of their players end up being 100+ PSR.
    There are some exceptions:

26.4% of Kanji players are 100+ PSR.
22.4% of Labrys players are 100+ PSR.
21.1% of Mitsuru players are 100+ PSR.

11.8% of Aigis players are 100+ PSR.
Definitely not surprised at the number of Yu and Chie players out there lol

So is there any reliable way of doing something about Akihiko's AAA > low / AAA > high mixup? There isn't enough of a gap to B+D (at least I haven't been able to) and even when I block he seems to recover stupidly fast and just do it again. Every time I get trapped in one of those I end up taking like 3 sets of them before I manage to get out (if I don't get hit first).

Anyone know the name of the online lobby or character select menu song is? That's a hella snazzy piano tune.

    Edit: Found it.

Pretty sure that data is made up and noone has ever played an online match without Kanji, Chie, or Akihiko.

I haven't really seen that many people playing Kanji or Chie yet. About 2/3 of my matches are against Akihiko though, lol. Getting better at that matchup w/ Mitsuru, but still don't have an answer to his mixups once he gets in.

Any of you guys playing on PSN, btw?

I am PSN. And I am mostly trying to play Akihiko myself. Tried a good bit of Chie but was just getting effed online. That is Ranked though, hearing that Player Matches are much better as far as actually being able to learn and maybe win here and there =P

    Played it over this weekend.

Was worth it for Kanji's story mode alone.

I remember hearing someone on stream (might have been Xie) saying that Tomoe's staff twirl thing doesn't actually hit for a few frames after she comes out, so depending on how he times the mixup, you might be able to jab his persona out of it, then deal with the jump-in/crossup by itself. Haven't played any good Chies yet, so don't know how practical this is.

A little over a week later:

    6322 total players -> 11699 total players (+85%)

1556 Narukami players -> 3159 Narukami players (+103%), now 27% of all players
1327 Chie players -> 2648 Chie players (+99.5%), now 22.6% of all players
1022 Akihiko players -> 2348 Akihiko players (+130%), now 20% of all players
870 Elizabeth players -> 1868 Elizabeth players (+115%), now 16% of all players
802 Mitsuru players -> 1808 Mitsuru players (+125%), now 15.5% of all players)
792 Labrys players -> 1642 Labrys players (+107%), now 14% of all players
728 Yukiko players -> 1620 Yukiko players (+123%), now 13.8% of all players
708 Kanji players -> 1644 Kanji players (+132%), now 14% of all players
707 Yosuke players -> 1591 Yosuke players (+125%), now 13.6% of all playyers
587 Naoto players -> 1443 Naoto players (+146%), now 12.3% of all players
561 Teddie players -> 1300 Teddie players (+132%), now 11.1% of all players
496 Aigis players -> 1124 Aigis players (+126%), now 9.6% of all players
    304 S.Labrys players -> 753 S.Labrys players (+148%), now 6.4% of all players

Not much change in the numbers, though Kanji has made a small jump up in the rankings. Akihiko, Naoto, Teddie, Kanji, and S.Lab also show more growth than the other characters, though only Kanji moves enough to move himself up in the rankings.
