you have to get multiple wins in a row to rank up. PSR is just a ranking for a specific character, grade is a ranking of the player. I still show as S rank even if I choose Akihiko, whom I've never played with and have 0 PSR. also, if the player won shitloads in a row, there is a good chance he'll have a low PSR but high rank.
its ridiculous how often people ragequit out of games when you slaughter them. had a guy quit out on my S+ rank up match only for me to lose to the next guy I play and miss the rankup. also, once you hit A rank, prepare for everyone to cancel out of your games when they see your rank.
edit: and what i've noticed since i hit S rank, i never get any PSR unless the guy is atleast A+, so my PSR is hovering around 705 because there aren't enough people to play that i can beat XD and the only rankup opportunities have been against players S rank or higher now
Finally got a chance to try all the characters, and ended up deciding to just stick with Yu anyways, lol. I have a few bnbs/oki setups going on that seem fun, but I gotta stop getting my Persona broken. I ended up sticking with the default button layout, but I still have a really bad habit of hitting A/X/Y/RB when my brain wants to burst, so I just set RB to burst, so if I mash all four of those it'll take priority.
Interesting about the ranking system... I actually quite like it. That means if you're good you don't have to grind to get a good rank, although it would be nice if it's character based.
I use the default layout too (although I have to disable the other buttons). It is actually very natural after you get used to it.
lol, now that more people have the game, hate mail is much more common. just had a C rank guy accuse me of auto comboing to S rank, even though Liz's auto combo sucks and i NEVER use it lol
If you hate on someone for killing you with auto combos, you're basically saying they're so much better than you, they can beat your ass even when doing way more work than they need to, lol
Early on in the match it's just not practical for me to not autocombo if I get the opportunity to land a jab on Yu...1400~ damage and 25 meter if you stop at the slide, his damage comes from meter usage and there aren't really any bnbs that build more meter, once I get in that first autocombo then I try to land a sweep for the 5D oki.
well, unfortunately, i main elizabeth, and none of her attacks gain SP since she has invigorate and just gains SP constantly unless I use meter in a combo then the meter gain stops until the combo is over. this screws me over sometimes because i won't be paying attention. i'll omc after a b.bufu in the corner to throw out memento mori for dat 7500dmg combo, but i'll only have 47sp or some stupid shit -_-
Not gonna happen for a while, they're having some trouble porting it over (my guess would be localisation is done but there's legal issues to sort out, Europe has weird laws regarding games and afaik it's slightly different in every country and you have to account for all of em). Thought I found Mitsuru's max damage combo after spending a while in the lab with her today and getting 8700 (highest I had seen so far was 8100). Apparently someone found a way to go all the way up to 9971.
If you've played GG/BB the learning curve isn't bad, though the execution can be somewhat stricter than I expected from something billed as being for beginners.
