Ah, That’s Why Mitsuru And Akihiko Are In Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena
more pics at the siteS.E.E.S. members Mitsuru Kirijo and Akihiko Sanada are playable characters in Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. Set three months after the murder mystery in Persona 4 and three years after the events from Persona 3, Mitsuru is all grown up.
Now 20 years old, Mitsuru is a university student and socialite. She is visiting Inaba in search of some "thing." Mitsuru fights with a rapier, which gives her a good amount of reach. Artemisia, her ultimate persona, lets her freeze her opponents in the arena.
Akihiko went to college after graduating high school too, but he was more interested in perfecting his punch. He traveled the world in pursuit of becoming stronger and returned to Japan after receiving an invitation to the tournament from Mitsuru. Being a boxer, Akihiko is a close range fighter that specializes in rushing opponents.
Still doesn't explain why she's dressed like a space pirate at an opera, but whatever it's still cool.

I look forward to this game. I'd like to know how they incorprate the personas to the game so they don't become too over-powered.

First Look: Persona 4 Arena's New Character Labrys
Famitsu.com has a first look today at a new character for Persona 4 Arena, Labrys.
Labrys, voiced by Ayana Taketatsu, is an android whose nickname is the "class leader." She's wearing a Yasogami High school outfit, but Famitsu provides no further details.
The site also has a look at the game's special attack system and character color variations. When you start the game off, you have access to eight color variations for your characters. The remaining six can be obtained from the game's players guild in exchange for in-game currency that you've earned.

P4's version of Aigis? Doesn't look as good as Aigis, but the weapon looks pretty sick.
I am amused by the fact that her ponytail has armor.
This is probably not the only non-canon character that's going to show up now that she's been announced.
Some real matches:
Gameplay's actually looking pretty good

Atlus Doing “Everything Possible” To Retain Original Voice Cast For Persona 4: Arena
Atlus USA PR and Sales Manager, Aram Jabbari, posted a little bit about Atlus’ recent announcement of fighting game, Persona 4: Arena, to the PlayStation blog this morning. Alongside a reminder that Arena is slated for release in North America this summer, Jabbari mentioned one other detail fans will appreciate as well.
For the game’s North American release, Atlus USA are trying to bring back the full English voice cast from Persona 3 and Persona 4. While this isn’t set in stone yet, Jabbari says they’re “doing everything possible” to achieve this goal.
Regarding whether or not the North American release Persona 4: Arena will also include Japanese voices, Jabbari says that Atlus can’t confirm or deny that yet. The console versions of Persona 4: Arena will feature new exclusive Story and Online modes.
Damn, this game is starting to actually look really good. I didn't think it would be that great at first, but it's seriously looking like a good fighting game now
In other news, Naoto is fucking incredible
Elizabeth and Shadow Labrys join P4A's Roster!
In case you haven't been paying attention, Shadow Labrys is the game's final boss in Arcade Mode.
