I am part of the PC Gaming Master Race.
Xbox 360, draw distance woo!
PS2 limitations.
I bought a PS3 when it came out JUST for FFXI.
I was really happy to see this when I logged in.
I hope these results are made public when they're finished, with actual numbers. [Not just percentages.]
It'd be more interesting to see that, say, 200 people played on PS2, instead of 2%. [Pulling numbers out of my ass here.]
Its a multi-option survey...lets just hope the people who "have it for pc and ps2" dont check both off, even if they dont use it.
Both my orginal PS2s are still working, and HDDs and compatible models were made and sold new in Japan until about 2009, maybe 2010. EU version was never released on PS2, and NA had compatible models put out of production about 9 months after the delayed game launch on the platform.
I have a fix in the patch download thread for updating a PS2 that can't read the discs anymore.
Before Abyssea, PS2 was the most stable platform I'd used.
It will be interesting to see how this survey turns out.
Drop PS2 support, make a $20 port of FFXI for the PS3 digitally, everyone's happy until we hit 256mb RAM limitations.
how I mine for poll
/stares at ps2 thrown in the corner... oh yeah i left it there when they fucked up the update and it said i had no space...
The defense that "a lot of JPs use the PS2" was hard to believe the first time I heard it like 5 years ago, but come on. It is 2011 and my 2 year old laptop can run FFXIV. You can find a PC that runs FFXI at a flea market next to the VCRs.
anyone notice the %s add up to over 100?
You can click multiple boxes.
rly? now i just feel silly
I'm quite surprised that such an overwhelming number (so far) play on PC. I figured it'd be like a 70/30 split, but wow.
Why wouldn't PS2 people have access to a pc?
My first computer that I ran XI on was a Dell from 04' that was one of those "buy two for x mount of money". I think the deal was buy two Dells (monitor+tower) for $400 so you can imagine the quality I got. It ran XI just fine on lower settings with cable internet. It would actually surprise me if it was possible to buy a computer in the last 5 years that couldn't run it at all considering what I ran it on.
