Again, my (essentially) $200 PC from 2004 ran the game just fine. If a computer THAT cheap from 7 years ago can run the game fine on lower settings, you should have absolutely 0 problems running the game on ANYTHING made today.

I play on PC now but c'mon. All this you should play on PC because you can get one cheap stuff is getting old. Nothing says reliability like $90 laptop ad on craigslist. If people enjoy playing the game on the platform it was built on let them. Not everyone wants to play on a tiny laptop or cheap monitor. Not everyone wants to buy a controller for a shitty laptop or desktop or use a keyboard and mouse to play. If you have such a problem with people playing an MMO on a console you should try one of the 99% other ones out there that are PC only.

PC is the better experience (if you cheat), but there is something to be said for the PS2 version. I find it superior to the 360 one outside of graphics (and even in a few ways to the PC version). If they want to discontinue the PS2 version I could live with it, but they should at least port the crappy 360 version to PS3 if they do. FFXI is the most successful console MMO in history, don't expect SE to turn their back on that.
