I never had freezing problems in sea on PS2. Only once did I have issues, and it was with the Whitegate Imperial currency NPC. They addressed it in a patch pretty quickly. I only switched to PC about a year ago.

This. About 1.5yrs on PC and the only issue I found on PS2 was the imperial white gate NPC and the Sandy OP NPC.

The NPC Oggbi (Asuran fists and MNK AF quest) is severely broken on ps2. Also a few WotG and ToAU mission CSs freeze up in the middle not letting you complete the quest and forcing you to reset the console. I was also set into a CS on ToAU that crashed, but when I relogged, it started the CS over and kept crashing everytime I logged back on. I had to get on vent and give my info to a Canadian on a PC to get me past the broken CS. Alot of the ps2 data needs to be fixed... Gonna happen? Probably not...

They won't ever drop ps2 support though unless they somehow offer sony a huge amount of money to sever their contract they have with them. They're making money off ps2 users still afterall.

Eh...who know what was written in the contract, and when it expires.

Considering that most PS2 users probably have access to a PC already, they could probably stop supporting it without any harm.

Yeah, one would think even if there were a contract for continued support it would have an expiration date. SE wanted at least 10 years of xi, and that is quickly approaching.
