Monk I got 55+ but its rather expensive to upgrade it and the quests arent too hard but some of the 'better' gear is drop only or spend 300k+ (This is gear at lvl 40- mind you) and each piece costs about that much so in order to get the most bang out of my monk I'll spend about 3-4 months farming money on an online game playing 5-6 hours a day. Not fun. Dancer is lvl 50+ but after I realized that its really just a solo subjob at most and a somewhat viable main job aside from the fact that their main TP spam and attack skills are (Big surprise) do no damage whatsoever and cause such minor % affects on a normal mob your better off dual wielding and beating them to death then wasting time using skills and I doubt they proc well enough on bosses at end game compared to other classes. Corsair and Scholar I've seen in action and their both utterly useless regardless of anything that I've seen. Bard looks like a good party buffer but with the way book burns are set its like wtf, who cares. Grind to 90 on Party Buff char to continue buffing the party? Wasn't my cup of tea. I've gotten war to 45 and I'm guessing that is my only way out to insane Cheap damage with good defense that people love in end game? Just asking because if I can't find a class that actually does something useful before I'm done begging for help on LB quests every 3 levels woops 5 levels in Lower Jueno to followup to what I'm reading as what could possible take several real life months-years to get a single piece of gear, I'm canceling before I get charged after the trial.
I know there are alot of elitists and super nerds on these forums, and I have played other MMO's and they were correct to say it was hard. No, the game isn't hard. The mechanics are hard, because they are so aggravating. Navigating the game is hard, because I want to stab myself everytime I have to walk over 4-5 maps to get somewhere and theres hills and trees and rocks and I can't press R and wait for 20+ minutes. Monsters? Not very hard. Quests? Not hard. Beg for help and complete it is about as well as it works, because nobody wants to party anymore, and nobody tries to party anymore, and half the people dont even know what their job abilities do before lvl 60.
So bring in your smug and snidey comments, I want to hear them all. I want to hear why this game isn't a flop of huge useless classes wombatting at giant things on timed spawners that severly gimp your real life while you pay for the game to piss you off. I want a reason to continue playing honestly, and my niche is damage dealing but not at the cost of spending 6+ months farming anything from gil to items. One month is acceptable for your end game gear and your mount (chocobo). 6 months though? Thats 13 x 6 = 78 dollars to waste every waking minute of your life and be pissed. Just regularly pissed because the game is so poorly designed.
I'll be waiting for your insight that your waiting to blare in my face as do all MMO games have. Going to wakeup and hope this thread has replies, just spent all day getting Black Mage to level 55 only to find out that I have less drops then any other class because I have AoE's. Thats bomb. Nerf the only viable farming in any MMO to date. Square Enix, bossing like a boss. Maybe you should display it when you select it from magic like - Firaga: Causes Fire Damage to enemies in the area of effect. You will recieve less drops if it hits multiple enemies. LOLWTF we make no sense we know. - Or something to that effect. I could have used a warning as a new player.
Edit: In before obvious 'We have no life, I've played 9 years and win at every class and like nothings useless and you just suck stop asking for handouts and learn to stop real life and play virtual world.'
And for class information/unlocks - I have full expansions and Aht Urgan as well as Kazham, Rank 5 Airship pass, full fame, etc. This took about 2 weeks alone with leveling 6 classes to level 50+ at the same time. Was very mundane. So I can unlock all classes, etc. It just seems the wiki and guide sites are very outdated and the idea is 'learn by doing' but I really dont want to be doing book burns for the next 4 months of my life so if someone knows a decent damage dealer with not alot of gil drain and etc, please, do post it here. Showoff your brains!
