I see there is a new thread in general crying over how hard the level cap fight is (haven't actually read the thread yet). I find it deliciously ironic how SO many people first made numerous threads and posts about how ridiculous the 80+ cap quests have been, then numerous threads and posts about how the final cap quest should be really hard and a proper challenge, then SE makes the final cap quest somewhat challenging and it's all "BAWWWWW THIS IS TOO HARD BAWWWWWW".

Every single Limit Break thread makes me think of this. I don't think the Official Forums can ever be happy.

Also it was funny when Analhelm posted the released video about the genkai when, the previous genkai information, he had criticized Gokku quite harshly. -facepalm-

People bitching for a harder limit break weren't exclusive to the OF. How many legitimately wanted it or were just trolling is another matter entirely.

People seem to have it in their head that only certain jobs can win. We cleared it with mostly loljobs, it was really messy but still very doable.

Those certain jobs only make the fight easy, I admit I have summoner leveled and have Alexander so I went that route myself.
But yeah, any decent party with players that use more braincells to think than a goldfish uses should easily be able to figure out how to beat this without too much hassle.

Try tell that to them though...

If you don't have the jobs necessary to win, just use an enfeebling item or two and the fight is a joke. End of story.

Cleared it last night with two enfeebling items, 5 BLMs, and one RDM. As far as I saw, the RDM didn't nuke when we were manaburning the taru. I would bet 3 to 4 RDMs could down him with Chainspell, but I wasn't confident I could chainspell on two characters at once <_<.

I thought that I could enter as my 87 SMN on the first attempt for Alexander because noone else had SMN.. it wouldn't let me in.
One of the MNKs was 90 also and not allowed to enter the BC. We were assured we could before we went out but that didn't pan out.
Setup: MNKx3, WHM, SMN, NIN
They died when they tried anyways.


The second attempt we had like 2 people just drop party after the above group and I grabbed a MNK and SMN to replace.
Setup: THF, MNK, MNK, MNK, SMN, WHM
Someone started showing for a MNK and SMN pair so I was like awesome and invited them. So we head to the BC. Get there only to find out the
SMN doesn't have Alexander. We try anyways, got beat down.

After this everyone in the group pretty much disbanded also so I started to seek. This was about the time my LS happened to have a few people getting their stoenes and the enfeeble item.

We partied up and went to the BC.
Setup: PLD, MNK, SMN, WHM, BLM, THF

We fought till about 60%, the MNK died during, but we got him up. The SMN PD'd but just as they were summoning the MNK went down again so he missed out.
He got up and Hundred Fists but go downed in about two hits. Once PD wore off we used the enfeeble item while the BLM nuked him down.

Not the smoothest of runs, but we got the clear so we were all happy.

What method do you use to 2box? 1 pc 1 laptop? 2box on 1 pc? I'm curious cause I may have some insight to make your 2box experience better.

I went 1/1 on my fight, though it was messy as hell. xD PLD (Ochain), BST (no other jobs, rejoining), NIN, RDM, WHM, BRD.

Was going pretty smoothly until 50%. Then out of nowhere bam, HF, I take hate on NIN, and Hundred Flaming Fists eats my face. He turns, Smites the PLD for 2.2k and then it turned into a kite fight. Amusingly, our gimp mostly-Perle BST won the fight at the end. I didn't see it, I was laying face-down in the burning circle. D:

But it's really not as bad as people make it out to be, considering we went no enfeebling items. :3 Was fun to have a challenge for once!

I use 1 PC with two windower things and FFXI-Util for multisend and sandboxing. Open to suggestions!

I use dualsend for 2box on my main pc, and I have the following aliases:
alias sk /send kehhiko
alias sn /send nynja
alias sv /send vermy

so I do
//sk //thunder4 <bt>
Kehhiko casts t4 on b4


in the case of what you were demonstrating, wanting to CS on 2 chars at once, you could theoretically do the following macro, with the mule following the main:
//thunder4 <bt>
//mule //thunder4 <bt>
and just keep spamming it

if the taru were to move out of range, just move the main char over.

the other option, which is what I used to do when I was 5boxing the x's BCNM (easier to bring 5 blm's instead of running and dying), would be to make a windower script probably to just spam a spell over, but that can get stuck.

Wildfire sucks outside Abyssea and inside it's only good if you gimp your physical damage by equipping MAB and fire damage atmas.
