Well that episode was insultingly stupid. I don't even want to take the wolves as canon, even though they are quite interesting, because this episode is so out of character. Guy who wrote it needs to find another job or go back to writing school >_> Children's show or not, it's just dumb.

The only thing I could think of that would explain it away (and something I'm sure fanfic authors will start writing about right away) is that Twilight finally drove Spike legit bonkers with her controlling personality and OCD so as soon as he found a half-baked excuse to enter someone else's service he just started screwing up and being as dirty as possible while still thinking he was helpful. I dunno, I got nothing but that, however little sense it makes. I guess I shouldn't have expected MLP to stay fairly decent all the time, as it is still a children's show and the longer it goes on the less the staff cares/everyone screws up once in a while.

Sadly, I think they've exhausted everyone at this point. Except for Twilight and what Celestia/Luna have planned for her.

Not really, everyone else is flawed enough to come up with several stories. Applejack is self sufficient to a fault.

I dunno, it seems like we've explored nearly all their flaws/goals.

Just like the video said, the rest of the casts' aspirations/faults/gimmicks haven't been fully explored:
-Twilight still has a ton of mileage on her "fish out of water" character development which could be used for exploring more of the show's world. Her paranoia, and OCD (and slight Aspergers) makes her flawed enough to create several conflicts and some downright interesting episodes. Hell, they could literally take Raven's episodes from Teen Titans and make them about Twilight and just change the names. (Going to be doing a fanfic inspired by a Titans episode to test this theory)
Also, all this foreshadowing for whatever the next level of her studies isn't just for shits and giggles... right?
-Rarity's aspirations to being a designer still hasn't been explored fully and she's flawed enough to be a foil to the rest of the cast in their episodes or even a Rarity centered one where she doesn't realize how much of a bitch she really is sometimes.
-Fluttershy/Pinkie Pie are probably the least explored out of the mane 6. We've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of Fluttershy while she still maintains her innocent demeanor. Plus she's a fanfiction goldmine from all the situations you could throw her into and different reactions you could draw from her. Pinkie Pie is so mysterious that anything works with her. For example, let's say there was a time travel episode where Twilight goes to the future or something and while everyone else is old and grey, Pinkie looks exactly the same as she does now with zero explanation. The writers could get away with that because it's Pinkie Pie.
-Rainbow Dash has a ton of room to grow as a character. Sure, she's been fed a lot of humble pie lately, but there's other things they could do with her since she's finally become Scootaloo's surrogate sister. (which I still think was a bad move) Actually, that could really tie into if they decide to go with Lauren's original intentions of Scoots being handicapped and having to learn that things sometimes don't go as planned which could parallel with Rainbow Dash realizing that she may never become a Wonderbolt and develop a new goal like being the best solo stunt flyer or something along those lines.
-And if all else fails, the writers could write down the entire contents of TvTropes on idea balls and have manatee pull them from a net...

I guess. I really can't think of much with Pinkie since well... Pinkie follow no line of logic.

For Fluttershy maybe. It seems like all of her episodes have to do with her and her fears.

For RD I guess in a way, though I think we covered a lot of her (Her ego, the wonderbolts, etc.)

Rarity... well that's a tough one. You're right we haven't explored the designer part, though at the same time I kinda think it'd be a rehash of Suited for Success and Sweet and Elite in a way. Though maybe I'm biased on her since I still want to punch her in the face after Sweet and Elite.

I probably could've went into better detail, but it's 3am and I just finished writing 200,000+ words. My point is that there's still plenty of material. Maybe not as much for main character centered episodes but general episode ideas. Still waiting on a body switch episode and that one really good fanfic that should be made into an episode word for word. Now that I'm sitting her thinking about it, Twilight's next level in training might have a major affect on how season 4's story is told, like how Lesson Zero expanded the focus on the rest of the cast.

There's a ton of them you could do solely based on how much family trauma AJ went through. She's the tough girl. What happens when someone actually gets through all that no matter how hard she tries to deny it? Yeah, it's romance. If SA and Cadence can do the fairy tale bit, you can go miles with Applejack having a relationship.

Then there's the whole "what was AJ like in the past", since we have big questions a-plenty about where the parents are and such. What made her that self-sufficient type- was it there all along, or was it forged in necessity?

If there's something I've learned, it's that there's something that makes sense of most of the crazy shit kids do, even if it's utterly devoid of logic.

Your kid cousin jumping off the deck with a bedsheet tied around his neck isn't logical, but it makes perfect sense when you realize he's totally hooked on Superman and just had a dream where he could fly. Seeing that Spike had literally drawn up (in crayon, no less) the Noble Dragon's Code was the giveaway. Where did the code come from? Spike, because he didn't want to be a bad dragon like the ones he met on the migration. Did he think it through? Of course not, he's a fucking eight-year old in dragon terms and he has a loony unicorn girl-woman librarian/wacky magician for a "mother". Why now? Cause he got to be the hero in the season opener, therefore he had to figure out how to be a noble dragon cause all heroes are noble. How? Like an eight-year old with serious hero worship and mommy issues.

Add in how often Spike gets in trouble and it was only a matter of time before you got "Spike at your Service". He hasn't been in any serious life-or-death stuff since "The Crystal Empire", even counting Trixie's little bitchfit with the Alicorn Amulet.
