So I had a dream last night and part of the dream was that I got a tattoo of Applebloom.
I'm not sure why, I don't even like her that much. I'm pretty sure it was a temporary tattoo because I was worried about it rubbing off or something.

And by "fangasm" you mean "massive internet outrage because making Twilight an alicorn would inevitably push her to Mary Sue status"?
She was already very close to that but her character flaws (OCD, her spells not always working and occasional inability to understand basic social interaction) counterbalanced her positive traits.
I'm not excited about it, but I understand it's Hasbro pulling the strings and they're doing this just to sell a new toy. I hope it will be just for one episode, though.

Well if we don't know how alicorns come to be in the first place I don't see what's wrong with it.
After all, Twilight's in tight with the royal court and has a ton of magic power. The only alicorns we know of are in the royal court and have a ton of magic power. If Twilight's being groomed to join them or something it would make sense.
I can see the Mary Sue argument but honestly I don't think it matters that much, some bitches just got it all (this is not unheard of in realsies either). Happening to have a show centered around someone who's that set up and has so many opportunities isn't that strange.

People will bitch no matter what. I remember when that pic hit EQD/Booru people were already complaining/giving thumbs downs.
Honestly though, I don't see any reason as to why it wouldn't happen. After all we seen what Shining/Candace looked like about a month or so before Royal Wedding happened. And assuming S4 was greenlit, there's no way they'd keep Twilight an alicorn. So we're looking at an alicorn Twilight for an episode at the longest.
EDIT: I really don't know what I should think of this statement...
