I'll save you the trouble. The original Past Sins was a big Mary Sue fest loaded with awkward dialogue and plot holes. It was one of the first fics to use commissioned artwork which added to expectations that it never matched. The re-write is much better, but the majority of people that read the first incarnation still haven't given it a chance. I did and can appreciate the amount of work Penstroke put in to make things right. Haven't read the spinoffs yet, but since I like the majority of his work (which I keep forgetting to link ones I would recommend here) I'll give it a try eventually.

I had to bail on Golden Armor too. Didn't get to the "emo" yet, but after reading A Slice of Life I can't really get into that incarnation of Lethe. Hell, when people see Equestria Prevail's OC which was an indirect inspiration for the two guards in the story, they associate them with Hoplite and Lethe.

If you ever want to run an idea past someone for future stories, join the Idea Factory group, I'm one of the moderators. Some members or more active than others, but we're all supportive and willing to throw in valuable input to help a story idea along.

The emo part is when the author goes into the backstory of his OC. TL;DR version he believes he's the reason his older sister died (when it was a genetic disorder) now all of a sudden he's closing himself off to everyone and everyting. Seems kinda meh and cliche in my book.

I'll probably get around to finishing it eventually just to finish it. I was actually in the middle of one of the "Winningverse" spinoffs to The Life and Times of a Winning Pony when I picked it up. Have you given A Slice of Life a chance yet? I'm considering giving it a second read when the season ends.

Yeah, that sounds really sudden and cliche based on what I've already read so far. But, I'm going to give the author a chance and power through it even if it's just to say I did. I'll let you know if it gets better.

Whoa! Mr. Frascotti acknowledged “Bronies”; thanked them for being great fans. My Little Pony TV Movie announced. He also mentioned that there will be a New IP for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. This new IP is for Older Girls; Teenage and above. The name of the IP will be revealed at a special “Pink Carpet Event” at San Diego Comic Con 2013. My best guess is that this is the rumored “Equestria Girls” trademark.

Fighting is Magic got C&D'd:

We have received a C&D letter from Hasbro's Legal representatives, asking us to cease game development, remove any materials that might contain My Little Pony characters, names, locations or related elements from the sites we control (Our site, our youtube, our twitch), and "cease any further use of [their] MY LITTLE PONY property".

Options have been considered, lawyers have been contacted, and resources have been (mostly) exhausted.

We have attempted negotiating with Hasbro for the continued use of the property in our non-profit, voluntary project, but so far we haven't received an answer. As such, we're complying with the contents of the C&D letter until we receive answer from their PR and/or Legal departments.

At least I got to play the leak, makes me sad I won't get to play Rainbow Dash my favorite. I am a huge fighting game fan too. Maybe they will leak the most recent version or something just not post it on their site.

I watched their investors conference thing that came out today, Kept saying how their pony toy sales are way up in several markets and pretty much said they wanted to target a older demographic with the show, teenage girls, sounded like the show is headed in a different direction. Their profits on licensing Pony stuff to other companies has been way up too, like the comic.

They said they had a lot of teenage girls that were interested in Pony according to their market research. Whats ironic though its actually more boys that age interested in the show because of bronies most teenage girls don't want anything to do with toy Ponies at that age but I guess there were some girl fans as well. What's funny is they mentioned how MLP got in Time, Wall Street Journal, People magazine ect, but they didn't mention why because it was because of adult fans.

Going to announce it at SDCC 2013. But they had this slide. Won't know whats changing until comic con.



Has me worried on whatever is changing. But if its the same writers, VAs and production staff, hopefully they can do something good with it.
