And apparently there was a porn flash game 6 hours after Button's Adventures got released. Probably with his mom...

Anyway, another fan movie project, this time about Derpy in an alternate setting where the mane6 get "knocked out" and Celestia goes mad or something like that. The video is kind of confusing...

So, I'm trying to get through Equestrian Girls and barely 1/3 through I wish I didn't. It's like it's trying to be a westernized magical girl anime without actually being one and I'm starting to wish it was. How did this get greenlighted again?

Edit: Some of the characters do look pretty cool as humans. Just not digging the mane main 6, they remind me of Bratz dolls.

Another Edit: Okay, so it wasn't as bad as I thought it could be, interesting to say the least. I'll probably never watch it again, read any Equestria Girls related fanfics or watch a series if there's on in the making. The songs felt like bad tween pop, the overall story felt rushed with some lingering plot holes and a bad case of deus ex machina towards the end. Also-

I spent the entire move thinking Flash Sentry was shining armor. He looked exactly like him and even without looking at the credits, I could tell it was the same voice actor. Pretty uncomfortable and full of unfortunate implications.

But he wasn't, he was the random guard she bumped into who will now inevitably be featured in later episodes building up an annoying romance between him and Twilight.. My biggest complaint was actually the whole romance angle. Didn't mind EG that much apart from that. Pinkie Pie made it sound like there was already a Twilight in that world, so I'm guessing there's also a Shining Armor too..?

I figured that out at the end. I'm pretty sure they said neither continuities will ever connect again, so we probably won't be seeing Flash on MLP. Might be safe to assume that none of that was canon until proven otherwise. As far as there being another Twilight in that world, I think the others mentioned it as well. Maybe there was some displacement going on when pony Twilight stepped into their world and maybe Pinkie... nah, she's just Pinkie.

EG wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it still seemed really weird. I seen worse animated movies before. I as for the show they already said Flash won't be in S4 at all, so its probably safe to assume they aren't going to talk about the events of EG at all.

Zumi put it better than I could. It wasn't exactly horrible or good, just weird. After sleeping on it, I feel bad for the crew for having to do it. These guys got this threw in their laps and did what they could. I especially feel bad for Ingram for having to be associated with such forgettable generic music. Well, except for the opening credits. I thought a fan made that intro.

Edit: Funny to think something by the crew is so good that I thought it was fan made. Fan work has been getting really good lately. Studio B might have to step up their game in S4.

That's one of the things I find kind of dumb about EG. It will never be referenced in the show even though it takes place in the MLP-verse. Don't get me wrong, I think the whole concept of EG was an abomination from the start (Yes I know Hasbro needed a product aimed at teens, but good lord could they have at least done SOMETHING new instead of milking this franchise for everything it's worth?) but still seems dumb to write it off and act like it never happened. Though I'm sure the same thing will happen with Alicorn Twilight.

The sad thing about EG though is how well it seems to be selling. Kind of scary.

If people remember right, Pinkie asks Twilight if she has a twin with a dog named spike that goes to another school. My guess is that the human world twilight never had a reason to go to canterlot high so she ever became friends with the other 5.

Marketing. It drives bronies crazy, but they got a decent grip on the crowd they were aiming at. Whether it lasts to the Christmas season? Excellent question. Those masks we've seen in the pics for "Halloween" costuming are nightmare fuel.

Was that the Pinkie/Fluttershy/Twilight thing? If so yes, those things were beyond scary and go back to the depths of hell where they belong.

I wouldn't say the initial idea was horrible. Fans have been doing MLH fanart for as long as I can remember, Hasbro just wanted to cash in on it. Can't really blame them. But with all ideas it comes down to execution, this is where EGs failed in my eyes. If they did anything but... that, EG could have been a huge success instead of a the big WTF it truly is. From what I've seen Hasbro hasn't exactly been able to tap into the teen market ever, Jem was a good example of that. They'd probably have more success if they made FiM more risque- it's doing wonders for TF: Prime. (Knockout)

I was on IRC chat with some authors discussing headcanon about that. You'd be surprised with the crazy theories people came up with. My favorite so far was that she became that world's Doctor Whooves' companion.
