Yeah, sorry about that. Friend of mine got me into watching Transformers: Prime. Regrettably, I wrote it off as another Bayformers spinoff when I first heard of the series. Turns out it does a really good job of modernizing G1 canon within the Bayverse while bringing back Peter Cullen and Frank Welker to reprise their roles. Looking back, I wish I gave it the same chance I gave MLP. (so much irony) Also, I haven't seen a TF series since G1 that had human companions that weren't down right annoying. I can see why some people dislike Miko, but after three seasons of Pinkie Pie, I guess I'm used to the brash genki girl archetype.
Anyway, here's a few updates. Finding new stories is going to be difficult for a while since people were exploiting the feature system to the point that certain authors had to be perma-banned.

After Big Macintosh helps the Mane Six out of a jam, he finds his ordinary life of peaceful routine thoroughly disrupted by the various misadventures those crazy ponies always seem to get themselves into.

This is by far one of my favorite slice of life fanfics I've ever read and it's slowly becoming my favorite of all the fanfics I've come across. I can't recommend this story enough to anyone who's a fan of Big Macintosh or any of the mane6 since they're all flawlessly characterized and represented equally. It looks like the story is coming up on its final stretch pretty soon. Can't say I'm not saddened by this, but I guess it's better to go out on top before things get stale...

Rarity is alone on Hearts and Hooves Day, and she's not happy about it. A friendly afternoon in the park with Applejack promises to turn their friendship to something more – or at least it would, if either of them would simply talk to the other about it.

Between her awkward sort-of romance with Applejack, her desire to help Fluttershy find a special somepony of her very own, family, friends, and the general day-to-day chaos that is life in Ponyville, this fashionista's got her hooves full.

Side story to The Life and Times of a Winning Pony and the rest of the Winningverse. My thanks to Chengar Qordath and Comma-Kazie for their support and pre-reading assistance.

Even though this is a part of the Winningverse, (Imagine Cloud Kicker as Charlie Sheen) it could really be its own stand alone story from how it's turning out. I really have to commend the author for being able to get inside Rarity's head so incredibly well. This is one of those stories where you can literally read everything in the character's voice, not because you have to, but because it's written so well. Every little articulation, pause, and subtlety in Rarity's speech comes with purpose, completely channeling Tabitha St Germain with each line of dialogue. A must read for any Rarity fan.

For as long as any of the Cutie Mark Crusaders can remember, Diamond Tiara had always been the biggest bully they knew. But when that said bully dies in an accident, each of them starts to go through their own emotional experience from this sudden change in their lives. Each will learn more about themselves and about the pony who they all thought they knew before she is laid to rest.

All I have to say is that anytime a story can make the audience feel sorry for a villain with 0 redeeming qualities, it's worth a read. CMC are well written enough to be sophisticated, while still being children as well- a very hard thing to do when writing.

Dash's Secret

Rainbow Dash is a well-known pegasus mare in Ponyville, but her parents know her as a colt, Sonic Dash. When they come to visit, she must confront both her parents and her friends with the truth of her identity. Will her parents accept her as their daughter instead of their son, and how will her friends handle the secret she has kept from them for so long? A story about family, gender identity, growing up with the wrong body, and, of course, friendship.

To be honest, I completely forgot about this story. Actually, I thought it was just going to be a one-shot. Turns out I never favorited it the first time around and it went on for four more chapters. The story's canon is a bit outdated thanks to some events in season 3, but still worth a read. Actually give all of HopeFox's work a read when you get a chance. His goal seems to be to write the characters outside of the constraints of a children show to add more depth to them while keeping everyone in character. I think he's done a good job thus far.

And just for you, Corrderio since I know you still haven't read it yet and you read that mediocre knockoff featuring Lethe instead of the original.

Anyway, this is seriously one of the best comedies I've come across with an insane supporting cast of background ponies and OCs. If you don't read this damn thing after reading Golden Armor, I'll start posting Human in Equestria and Equestrian Girls fanfic updates with shameless "Fluttermac" shipfics in between.

First MLP:FIM episode- Oct 2010.

The show didn't even exist when the kid was born. (she's age 4, it's Sept 2013)

This means the poor kid's named after this on the left, not the pony on the right. Bronies didnt even exist when the little girl popped out into the world.

On a side note: Someone gave me an epic idea for a fanfic to get me back into writing. Hopefully, it will be enough to inspire me to finish Inappropriate, Lunar Liability, and (maybe) Prismatic Shift. Actually, same person gave me the idea to make Prismatic Shift play out like Flashpoint Paradox. I might actually embrace that idea.

Yep. I never saw hat arguments like this since I played TF2. Except they weren't as retarded as this one. This fandom will rage about anything.

The longer there isn't a new episode, the more twitchy the fanbase gets. EqG only made it worse this hiatus. Besides, it's not like you can't easily wrap sixteen chunks of new fanfiction around this, considering all you got was "bobbing for apples".

Was it some kind of secret Apple Extreme Apple Bobbing where you have to nip the golden apple out of a vat filled with angry timberwolves? The Summer Wrap Up her parents took her to before they reminded her of shooting stars? Seriously, people need to stop gripping onto fan-canon with their gritty inflamed asscheeks and roll with what they're given.

I don't know why, but it seems like downtime "feels" significantly longer each season. Obviously it's longer this time around since we only got a half assed season, but it it feels like it's been 2-3 years or something. All the drama this season doesn't really help either, I suppose. Hasbro has been pulling some Capcom tier trolling.
As far as the new canon about Applejack's hat goes, I instantly adjusted it from being a moment of her father to her father taking her to that fair. No big deal, really. This is why you can't take headcanon too seriously and you have to roll with the punches when canon eventually kills it.

Though yeah, I think one reason the wait feels so long is because of the half season and EG being flat out horrible.

Still can't blame them for raging, emotional investment will make you prone to butthurt. Imagine the rage that would ensue if they nerfed the Soda Popper in TF2.

AJ's parents being dead was a word of Faust thing from what I remember. She's talked about it before, but I doubt they would ever openly spell it out on the show. The shooting stars were all we got, and that was more than enough to get the message across for anyone still wondering. Pretty classy on their part.

Even though both those things didn't turn out so well, I think it was a matter of squandered potential. I would've loved to have seen Faust's endgame for Twilight come to fruition and Equestrian Girls could have benefited from sticking to what made FiM so good. Instead, we wound up getting a rushed story and a bad fanfiction.

Anyway, I could use some help with coming up with a title to my story. I'm usually good at coming up with one, but drawing a blank this time. It's basically FiM version of The Prince and the Pauper where Sweetie Belle trades places with a young princess forced to be responsible since she's the only monarch in her nation. Got any ideas?
