    My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Bronies Thread

    Been busy as hell lately and finally had time to watch the last three episodes:

    Castlemania: Best one out of the bunch. Reminded me of an old Chuck Jones cartoon that had a similar plot. A bit disappointed they dropped the ball on a "What is a man?" reference, but still a solid episode. Glad they worked in some form of "Hey, let's document our adventures!" angle. I think the absence of that made season 3 leave a bad taste in my mouth. (Aside from bad writing and alicorn drama) Feel bad for Applejack fans that her only character development is a rehash if her rivalry with Rainbow Dash. A pegister friend if mine simply said "They should just fuck already and get it over with." I think she reads too much fanfiction...

    Daring Don't: Kind of meh. Makes me glad I didn't read the comics. Heard there was an epidemic of butthurt circulating. Whole thing just felt like 20+ minutes of fan service. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Doctor Whooves episode.

    Flight to the Finish: Kind of a middle of the road CMC episode in my eyes. Not as strong as Cutie Mark Chronicles (still my favorite) but falls a bit short compared to Showstoppers and Bad Seed. At least it was better than the newspaper one. (forgot the name) I was expecting it to be all about Scootaloo and that's what killed it for me I think. The end was good, but he whole thing felt rushed. Also, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon can go to pony hell.

    Still, this is way better than season 3 will ever be. There's a nice season 1 feel or maybe it's just nostalgia messing with me. Just having trouble getting used to Twilight with wings. I don't think I ever will either.

    Haven't been on FimFiction for quite a while. I might catch up after Christmas when I'm not working my ass off. Been coming up with ideas for current and new stories, so I might get on sooner than later.

    Edit: Ponyville Confidential! Don't know why I forgot the title of that episode. Maybe because Hurricane Fluttershy was more memorable? Meh, maybe it's because I'm working off 8 hours of sleep since last Monday...

    Wasn't bad, but wasn't good. Plot was so cheesy I felt like I was watching Batman Forever.

    Straight fluff episode here, they didn't even -try- to connect it to the main season storyline except tangentially with the whole "we're renovating the castle!" bit.

    And I liked it. Gave me happy City of Heroes flashbacks, especially watching them try and figure out their powers. Rarity definitely won in that regard, though...and ZOMG Flutterhulk.

    That was worth it.

    Agreed, Rarity as the Green Lantern and Fluttershy becoming the Hulk was great.

    IMO, Rarity was the only good hero. Did Twilight ever cast a successful ice spell?

    Later: Dammit Spike, why the heck didn't you tell me I'm an Ice Controller? I've been trying to use Freeze Ray all episode and I finally got Ice Slick to work!

    Applejack actually picked up on her power set faster than anyone except Rarity did, and Fluttershy just didn't want to use hers. When she did, sides were broken. And everything else. Dash was as slow on the uptake as Twilight was, only she didn't know how to target those indiscriminate AoEs...

    Episode was nice change of pace from last weeks (screw Diamond Tiara), it was funny, seemed like it went by really fast that's always a sign of a good episode.
