VI is one of the only ones I haven't played, so was wondering if this version is too different, or stays true enough but rewritten to work for ponies to play this one? FAQs also note higher difficulty so that would suit me as well

I'm gonna check this out right now, I've played VI and am pretty familiar with the story/characters. I'll post my thoughts about it later.

Okay, it's pretty cute. Looks like the things they do with the characters are going to be pretty hilarious at points. The only complaints I have is that the ponies walk upright (can't really help it cause of the programming) and that the font is abysmal. It's whimsical and very difficult to read. Other than that, looks like a fun rendition of 6.

But at the same time I'm excited that she's coming back. Trixie has a ton of ranges in fanfiction depicting her as a troubled soul seeking friends, Twilights unofficial rival with a shit load of foe-yay or that bitch everyone loves to hate to the point that it's comical. I avoid the first two depictions of Trixe like the plague and get a kick out of the third.

There's even an alternate universe fanfic where Luna banished Celestia to the sun and Trixie is her #1 student. Luna literally sends Trixie to Ponyville just to get rid of her and she accidently defeats Daymare Sun by bringing together the elements of harmony and Luna is forced to get reports from Trixie.

Same as Pinkie, she has a lot of personality. She also has a lot of attitude, people like attitude. She's different from the other characters in that she flaunts her skills and isn't afraid to treat others the way she wants to treat them rather than the way she would want to be treated. Characters who ignore the golden rule are hated above all but also loved above all lol. It's a pretty interesting duality I think.

I don't hate Trixie at all as a character. If I met her I would probably hate her. Pinkie on the other hand is just grating beyond belief most of the time, even just as a character. At least Trixie doesn't beat a dead horse (pony?) too much like Pinkie.

Who's everybody's favorites on here anyway? For the mane 6, mine are Pinkie Pie/Fluttershy, (Tied) Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack in that order. AJ is only dead last because she has almost zero character development compared to the others. She needs more episodes.
My favorite secondary or background characters are Derpy, Doctor Whooves, Big Mac, the CMC, Cheerilee and Fancy Pants. (now that he's a meme)
Not sure which princess I like the most. I guess I like them both equally but Luna wins by a nose in fanfiction. Especially since I'm in the middle of reading Progress and A Slice of Life. Any pony that can chug a keg of mead and bealch in canterlock is automatically best pony.

For BG I'd have to say Derpy for how she originated and how the creators rolled with her and Minuette (Colgate) due to her color scheme.

As for the Trixie thing, I suppose you two make good points. To me I just found her unappealing mostly due to her voice/attitude, the whole "holier/better than thou" thing just seems beyond old to me.

I don't dislike them in general. Just dislike when there are episodes centered around them, taking away from episodes that could go center around the mane ponies. If they just happen to be in an episode. I have no problem with them but episodes they "star" in I believe are a waste of an episode
