People have pads on their upper body to protect them from blindside hits. Up high is totally fair game (not any more I guess since crackbacks are illegal now), but your legs are completely exposes, especially from the side like that. It's ridiculously easy to tear your knee up from a hit like that. Think of how your legs buckle to it
