it's not saying much, but I can say confidently that if the skins were in the NFC west they would win the division. They'll probably finish last (maybe 3rd ahead of the Giants?) but they won't be terrible or embarrassing in most of their games this year.

I'd argue that this is the first year they didn't go with the win-now mentality. They had a "boring" draft, didn't sign any big name free agents. They look like they are trying to build. Grossman is a suitable enough QB and the draft next year will have 4-5 good QBs they can be patient and draft one and bring them up. Also, expect Beck to move into the starter role soon. I view both of them as cheap ways to hold down the QB position while they spend money on the rest of the team. The franchise was such a mess, it will take years to get things back in order. Like those people on Hoarders. They managed to throw out the rotting refrigerators and flattened dead cat carcasses...but they still have a lot of work to do. (That rotting refrigerator line was a jab at Haynesworth. Sorry.)
