umm, that is my original character.... Just curious how did you know that? BUT that is not the character I'm trying to recover. Pearson was hacked by RMT years ago and was deemed banned and even after notary process I was never able to recover him. Yes, this is the second time I've been hacked and my second account to be hacked. I have Firefox now with no script and such to prevent it from happening again.
Are you from Event Horizon perhaps, your name sounds very familiar.
Hey Xaeon! Don't give up on FFXI yet. Level a new toon. We just recently had someone come back and in less than a month is fully up to date in both gear and missions. SE support is shit; I am going through a similar process with Harax right now. I feel bad I wasn't able to return Xaeon to you when you came back, SE kind of forced the hand with satchel.
I know Xaeon, he was in my endgame linkshell Event Horizon. But I am not Xaeon on Bismarck, that is not my character lol....
I am really tempted to say fvck Square Enix and just start from scratch. I would need to reconnect with some old LS buddies and I doubt very many are left over. I am Pearson from Bismarck, from Event Horizon and IRON shells.
gosh, ffxi accounts are so serious
Well I guess I'll just start over tonight with a fresh copy. It costs 15 bucks for a fresh start. If and when SE ever gets back to me I can switch back to my main character. I called them today and they are still "processing" my notary that they received 17 days ago.... If anyone is still on Bismarck that remembers me I would love to get back into a Linkshell with some folks from the past. The thought of fame quests, Subjob quests, and Limit Breaks is sickening though.... Not to mention my sea and sky access...
Returning peoples thread
Trust the other people who've said it and myself - starting over now isn't the amazingly epic chore it was 2 years ago. It's still a grind for sure, but no where near the massive undertaking it would have been in 2009.
Probably the worst customer service ever....

Complete and total fail....
Acting like an ass always gets me good customer service, don't know what went wrong there.
How was I an ass? Nothing I said was untrue and I used the word please... I guess I left out the part about 3-5 minute pauses between every response, from the second he picked up the chat... This topic was created for the purpose of anyone else going through the notary process and what to expect. From the date I sent the notary in till the date I eventually get my account back.
I think I know who Louis was referring to.

That's fine, if all I'm going to get is trolled I'll just abandon the thread completely. This thread was supposed to be helpful to anyone in the future researching the notary process but this is just not worth my time.
The thing is, there's no new information here.
Folks replied explaining it can take up to a month, and that SE is probably slammed with Click&Buy support issues that could potentially extend the timeline on a help ticket for a recall; yet you ignore all of this and post chat logs of you acting impatient and demanding, again, w/o any new information.
The best thing you can do is wait and call back in a few weeks as suggested (and maybe treat them like a human being instead of a service-bot.)
All I learned from this thread is the OP fails at recalling sold accounts.
I'll tell you how the notary process works since I've been through it before.
Rule #1 is you will never be allowed to speak to a supervisor and if you do, they'll just say the same thing.
Once you send the notary form you wait for an email response. This response will either have all the necessary information you need to retrieve the account or it will tell you to fuck off.
When my account was compromised all of the personal information was changed. Because of this it isn't possible for you to verify the account properly because you don't have the POL ID, the address doesn't match up, the email doesn't match up and if they used another CC then the billing info doesn't match up. They will not release any details of the account to you because you cannot verify the account and the supervisor will just tell you the same thing. At best you might find out if any of your characters were moved or if their names were changed. They do ask you for that information and they will at least say if it is incorrect. Bottom line is you won't get much if anything out of them until they finish your investigation.
Sit tight and wait it out. It's much less frustrating to find something else to do in the meantime then to spam up their chat service.
I got the good letter...
I thought yea, I'm getting my character back!!! I called in, gave him my Conformation number and got my POL ID, then the representative asked me, what SE ID do you want this transferred to. I gave him my SE ID and he told me. "uh oh. This is linked to another SE ID." I thought to myself duh, I told you that earlier. Keep in mind this guy was the same guy who originally helped me when I reported my account compromised. He remembered my name as my name is very unique.Dear Customer,

So I think ok no problem I still be playing the game tonight and all he needs to do is unlink it and then link it to the correct SE ID. Well he fills out a form and has to submit it to his higher ups. So I did not get my account back last night but I did get conformation that I will be getting my account back after this last little hiccup is fixed. He had no estimate on time for me (no surprise). The guy was very funny though. He said his name was Ben unless I was upset with him then his name was Kyle. Funny thing is there is a Kyle and a Ben working in the support center....
So Notary sent August 19th
Notary received by them August 22nd
Investigation complete September 12th
Still no account back but I'm getting there.
I checked with chat support earlier in the day yesterday when they told me that they ere trying to contact me about my account and they had sent an email to me twice, which I never received. I had to get them to send it to three different email addresses before they finally got it sent out to me. So my advise is don't wait for the email, stay on top of them and you will get results faster. Between not receiving the notary form to begin with, getting it sent to three times and the final confirmation number email having to be sent three times I probably saved a 2-3 days of waiting by staying on top of all this.
in before you have to start the notary process all over again. good luck with that phone call.
