Notary Process - Recovering a spellcheck

I was told that you could still play on the account while the request to unlink an SE ID was active. I could have understood it wrong, but you might call back and ask them if you can still login to play while it is in progress.

In the end my account ended up being too old to recover so I have to start over. Not a big deal seeing as how I only had 2 jobs to 75 and 100 cooking. Glad to hear you had less trouble than I did at least. Have fun^^

Maybe in the past that would work. With all accounts needing to be attached to a SE ID that probably won't work.

So Notary sent August 19th
Notary received by them August 22nd
Investigation complete September 12th
Still no account back but I'm getting there.

I'm still don't have my account back and the request to unlink my SE ID is still pending from the 12th of September. Pretty much ready to just give up on the whole deal. I'm not sure I really want to spend money with Square Enix anymore after this fiasco.

If I'm reading this thread correctly, you've been hacked twice, but are not considering purchasing a Security Token, yet you are thinking of purchasing a new account and starting over instead. You also had absolutely no information to provide SE with, as you've lost everything, but you're angry at them for taking as long to process your account as they have with virtually everyone else.

So, despite your having nothing, they're helping you at the standard rate, and despite what you've been through twice now, you're still not seriously considering protecting yourself.

I believe you can afford a bit more patience, and probably a Security Token instead of a new account.

It takes them way too long to process this stuff. I agree that you should have a token which I now have, but it shouldn't take months after you submit the notary for them to process it.

After my notary was received by them it still took them several weeks before they had even updated my account information to reflect that. I called to get some info from them and they couldn't give me anything even though I'd already received the email saying that they had verified me as the original owner. The sad thing is that whoever stole it got it banned and SE never had any intention of removing the ban. No idea why they even had me jump through the hoops if they were never going to release it, so it's fair to assume that they don't have their shit together. Almost every other post I've read in several forums that discuss SE and their customer service or support will back that up.

Hacked twice yes, but I have a security token now because I purchased FFXIV collectors edition. So I will have a token if I ever get my account back. My notary has already been processed and I was verified as the original owner. The problem is I'm waiting on them to unlink my POL ID from the hackers SEID. That is the hang up.

Yep, the notary form took three weeks to verify and get a confirmation number. Just as i was about to get my account back they realized my POL ID was attached to a SEID that was not mine. The hang up now is getting it unlinked which has taken them nearly two months with no resolution yet on that part. Honestly how hard would it be for them to unlink it. I am already verified as the owner, this is the frustrating part.

Just cut your losses. The game isn't all that great these days anyway, and if you still want to play, just start over, its 10x easier/quicker, etc.
