Log in / Connection issues

Friend that is in montreal and on Videotron can log and change zone fast but has problems with Auction house, keeps saying Search fail and all

Search is working fine for me...I hate when shit breaks and its not my fault.

Did the tech have you do all sorts of stupid tests on your end because "nothing ever breaks on their end"?

Well as long as youre in, and I presume you'll be in ronfaure for a while, you could confirm my theory that once you're in a zone, you should be fine.

I can't get past "checking PlayOnline Viewer Version" again lol...if I get past that once an hour I'm freaking happy. This shit's pissing me right off, and no it's not on my end. As for zones when I do make it in, I d/c last night in Aby - Vunk and my Port Jeuno MH. My error is still 1160 in POL, and it's 4001 and 0011 to d/c me from game and then from POL 1 second after the 4001 connection error.

And oh btw, I *can not* get SE's support website to come up...period...the POL FFXI site comes up but the FFXI Forums do not. Is there anything consistent with this that I should check or be doing if there's any chance at all that it's on my end? Just curious. I really want something to work

It logs me in once in a blue moon lol, but it doesn't last very long. It's definitely the right one or I'd at least get the error message of "wrong ID or password" >.<

Can't log in either from Gatineau, Quebec (couple hours from Montreal), on Videotron as well. The furthest I can get in is the black "Downloading data" screen, but usually it times out much earlier in the login process.
