Curious if anyone is still playing Aion. I was just looking at the recent patches from the game and it looks like they put a lot of new things in the game. Wondering if anyone playing (if anyone does) could tell me about the new stuff. Kind of interested in coming back.

Couple months ago a bunch of BG'ers were playing but everyone seemed to lose interest. I was curious about the graphics update and all the stuff they added

Just started about a month ago to play with the wife and our friend. Shit is pretty fun so far. I'm leveling a 26 ranger and loving it. The wife has a 53 SM and sometimes gets frustrated trying to form groups for instances. I'm sure that'll really make me miss dungeon queue from WoW...

I play regularly on the Elyos side of Zikel. I have a 55 chanter and cleric. As for what's new? Depends on how long you've been gone. There have been a lot of really nice UI updates, there's the Crucible (a PVE arena where you compete for tokens and exchange them for the top tier PVE armor in the game right now), Esoterrace (the AP fort for the ground abyss), and solo Crucible (a quick solo version of the crucible). Crafting was updated so that you can convert certain low quality items into high quality (I.E. three whites into a green, three greens into a blue). This month also has a bunch of events going on because of the 2 year anniversary. The next patch is going to have a PVP arena for tokens to turn in, but I'm not sure what else yet. That's supposed to drop the first week of December.

Depends on what you're trying to do, you could solo a lot of things on ranger as long as you have room to kite, or you can just get your wife to mentor you through things.

Oh wow. I got to 48 on ranger and me and my GF left i think after 1.9 came out. Aion sounds like it really improved a lot

That was the ground abyss right? I confuse the patch updates. I actually find 45-50 or so the most annoying levels in the game, but all of the quest reward exp was boosted a lot. If you can get to 50 and get to the ground abyss it's easy to get to 51. At 51 you can start doing Udas which can be done in very small numbers (even the bosses if you do it right) for a ton of exp per trip. Doing that hitting 55 is a cinch (and the cash is good, too). You can also do the solo instance at 51 which is good exp and a crapshoot on drops. Besh at 55 is easier than ever, but that means you can actually clear it in a reasonable time frame without stooping to extreme measures to kill the final boss.

Additionally there's a mentor system in the game now where you can build up tokens to turn in for some pretty decent gear and other stuff.

Yeah, I left a week or two after balaurea came out. I think i may just have to re-sub. I always liked aion's mechanics, not sure why i left in the first place

I can't imagine it has the epic fort siege battles anymore. Things seemed to be on their last legs 1.5 years ago.

Too many detrimental mechanics and restrictions added to the pvp, and ground abyss didn't come soon enough. Kept the game installed for the longest time

I just started to play again w/ a friend a few weeks ago. Not playing much, but having fun. 50 ranger all decked out and 48 sorc pretty much set as a twink. My friend is 50 templar all decked out and twinked 48 SM.

We are on vaizel, but if we enjoy the game enough we will move to Zikel Elyos. Of course our server is the only one w/ fail Elyos

I'm an elyos. :< Last I was playing, though, it seemed like a good time to be an asmo on Siel. XD

Yeah when I quit Asmos were dominant on Siel (Finally)

We were behind for a couple of months. Now, we have a few upper forts, Elys have all 3 lower forts. We took divine for a few days at one point. I really have no idea how organized or not the Elys are here, but it seems pretty even on that aspect.
