I know I can't help but think it's just my style. I can't quite fathom why I would even consider shopping there!

Also, I usually get these for tees and undershirts, if you go to the store they usually have them on sale, like three for $25 or $30. They're mad comfortable.

As well as polyester, but about 1000x softer.

Solanis, do you know where to go shopping in DC? Or anyone with some sense of style/taste. I want things I can't get at home mainly.
what kind of style are you rocking, luci? for women I really do love kate spade and marc jacobs, two american designers with impeccably constructed garments that flatter the female form without being absurdly expensive. I can rattle off a whole slew of local american designers if you give me a price range and style.

diesel(772, 796, etc etc wash) for jeans, polo for polo shirts, allen edmonds for dress/kickass shoes, puma/adidas for chill, blah blah almost see-through vintage western shirts, t-shirts from the late 80's so they are super thin, oh and last but not least, ray bans.

Designers based in DC? I think that's what she was asking.

M Street in Georgetown in the city proper is where a lot of boutiques are, like Diesel, Coach, BCBG, Kate Spade, Christian Bernard, Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren. For other shopping options, the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall isn't bad, it's on the Metro and close. It has True Religion, Lucky Brand Jeans, Michael Kors, and the standard American mall stuff like Banana Republic, etc. Another option that's a little further out is Tysons Corner Galleria (not Metro accessible, at least not for a long time), but it has BCBG, Betsey Johnson, Bottega Veneta, Nicole Miller, Ferragamo, etc. Plus there are department stores that carry a lot of different designer lines at pretty much any mall in the DC area.

[Edit: Girlfriend suggests Hu's Wear in Georgetown as well, I didn't know about them but apparently they have a lot of excellent stuff, and it can be pricy, but is definitely unique.]

Casual: T-shirts from Adam Lippes (extremely overpriced, but they fit very well and are comfortable), jeans from various places
Formal: Nothing really amazing since I rarely need to wear formal attire. I have a few suits and ties from Brooks Brothers, a tie or two from Hermes, and I cannot remember where I bought my dress shoes.

There really aren't too many places to buy nice clothes in DC that you wouldn't find in other places. Northern-ish Virginia has quite a few extremely rich communities (and thus nicer stores) but I don't have any experience with buying women's clothing myself.

Fred Perry. Hardly saw anyone / anywhere with any Fred Perry when i went to California this summer. I like the whole scene behind the brand. if you started wearing it out in America it'd probably be considers quirky? Im pretty sure it's massive in Japan.

The fit of a top doesn't bother me to much, aslong as it's small and doesn't have a label that digs into my neck im quite happy.

Wardrobe consists of Fred Perry, Ralph Lauren, A&F, Hollister (mainly for t-shirts) and Lacoste.

I used to see a ton of Fred Perry in an expensive boutique chain (Blue Bee) in Santa Barbara a few years back. I don't know if it just didn't catch on or what.

edit: lol. Apparently Blue Bee went out of business. Must have been all that Fred Perry stock!

kingsizedirect.com and casual male XL. I need the size, width and length. I hate lifting my arms over my head and flashing my belly button. they are comfy and I'm not into labels like Tommy Hilfinger etc. etc.
