I wouldn't say they are nickel & dimeing customers. They have to bring back the original VAs, translate more stuff, ect... W/makes this much more expensive than a mere HD remaster. If anything they are nickel & dimeing the Japanese since that stuff has already been done for them

Purchasing the International "upgrades" will probably just unlock that "New Game" option from the title screen.

Once again where did they said they are rerecording all the VA for X-X-2, they did it for KH but I don't recall them saying they did for X-X-2

It's false guys, they really can't do it. In FFX's case you select the new or old grid at the beginning so basically if you start playing and then download the DLC you have to start over. FFX-2 is even worse because some creatures are completely missable if you get past a certain chapter.
Also "Last Mission" requiring the International pack is complete BS. It's a separate option in the main menu and you can play it before even touching the main game.
Oh and SE already announced both are based on the International versions and they've never done something like this with the other re-releases. This would go against everything they've ever done.

you honestly think they will have the entire game in english and then parts in japanese w/ subtitles? you crazy

No but they could just record Last mission, instead of the full 2games

Just saying by listening to the Tidus voice in the official trailer, i don't remark rerecording compared to the PS2 game

I actually thought of this after making my post. DLC is usually new content, doesn't usually change the current content completely.

Even if this turns out to be true, I still see it as a hell of a deal for HD FFX/X-2 plus all international version content for less than $60. Obviously I hope it's not the case, but it's not the worst thing to ever happen if it is.

Why would they even do this? They could easily include all the content on disc and sell this stuff for 50 $ like MGS HD.

I guess it is for the people not interested in the other content and allowing them to get the game cheaper.

But yeah, I was fully ready to pay $60 for this when they said it was going to be X and X-2 + International stuff which we haven't got before. So, I don't really even care about this type of DLC since it is still cheaper than what I expected to pay. >.>

I...I don't know if I have it in me to do lightning dodging again. I'm not 16 anymore without any real responsibilities. Then again, I play FFXI. So I guess I'm just full of shit.

Lightning dodging is mindless/tedious but only mildly annoying, it's the fucking chocobo racing that I don't want to do again. I still have nightmares about birds and balloons...

nearly threw my controller at the TV for butterfly catching.

I got lightning dodging in 1 try... and funny thing was i got a phone call in the middle of it and paused the game. i think that helped.

Anytime I have done the lightning dodging (think I've done it for 3 or 4 files now?) I would just do 50 at a time, or whatever you're comfortable with, pause, and do something else for a little bit (internet browsing usually) and come back to it. Never had a problem with it before doing that. Chocobo racing is quite a pain, mostly due to how luck based it feels at times. If the chocobo was actually controllable properly it would most likely be really easy. >.> Butterfly catching was mostly just annoying due to some of those turns being REALLY difficult to see where the bad ones were.

The more run throughs I do for this game though, the faster I usually complete those (they can still be quite a pain though at times).

lightning never bothered me because I would do a bunch and then always pause it and take a break. then come back to it

Weirdly enough I did the chocobo ones after endless frustration but never managed the butterflies and lightning. Probably because I used Tidus more than kimahri and Lulu (lightning was for her right?)

I don't mind paying for the extra content on top of the game so much. It's still cheaper than importing both international versions, and looks better. win|win.

Now if that means in the future they're going to get grabby with the main game releases then......well, IDK about that.

I like how 13 came out in 3 games, and that they focused so much on making that main game's story not feel like you got shafted.

All the main games and their sequels feel sorta like your listening to a story with friends. one person starts and tells a majority of the story and then the other games feel like other friends filling in details the first one didn't know/left out/ put different emphasis on.
