We had the "Girl Power" in the first sequel. Go with the "Bromance" on the second sequel/prequel. Makes sense to me. We all know what happens to them at the end, but could be like Crisis Core where they beef up the story

I wouldn't be able to deal with another Crisis Core end.
God damn that game's ending was so sad even though you KNEW it was coming. If they do that to me again I'm sure my heart would break beyond repair.

I would be down for either the adventures of Braska and company or a prequel during the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle. I don't know how you could have a full world, but it'd be cool to watch as Zanarkand was driven to desperation and decided to create Sin.

A prequel would be pretty boring if they can't shed any new light on what happened during Braskas pilgrimage.. It's been fleshed out pretty well. They could always retcon Auron with a "how I met your mother" tho

X was a great title, albeit unfinished with what they could have done with it story wise. Loved it.
X-2 solved that. Wrapped up everything that needed to be wrapped up in a pretty little bow and it was over. Loved it more.
Nothing else is needed.

But wait, maybe Sin will *really* be gone like the last 2 times. Yuna goes through hell and high water to earn Tidus being brought to her time and then she just goes "Oh, we can't date anymore. Sorry!" and hands him their promise ring back.

I really don't buy it and I don't like it one bit.

If they absolutely feel the physical world will collapse upon itself like a dying star if an X-3 is not made, make it about how Yu Yevon became corrupted or what is happening now in Spira thousands of years into the future. No one from X/X-2 should be involved outside of maybe a few story links via fayth or pyre flies. I very well may eat my words but if there is any additional game Square needs to be making it is not anything related to Spira because that story is over and done with.

X was my favorite FF and one of my top 3 games of all time. I say I'd like to see X-3 because it would be great to see those characters again but obviously they could fuck up the story and like Kirin said everything at this point is wrapped up pretty nicely.

I still haven't played X-2.
I rented it when it came out, put it in my ps2, watched the opening cutscene and then my ps2 broke.
I got a new one later, but never picked up x-2 again.
Now I'm just waiting for the vita version.

I've also never finished Crisis Core. I've started it on like 3 different occasions, but always end up losing interest.

There's more to the story that we haven't learned yet. There's a novel in Japan called FFX-2.5 and it's set between X-2 and the audio bonus of the HD remaster, it's apparently meant to explain why they're acting that way but I suppose we'll have to wait for a proper translation (because we all know it's never coming out here, great job SE <_<).
