Any reports on what the frame rate is like? Hard to tell 30 versus 60 fps on Youtube.

A few impressions from people playing the PS3 and the Vita version report that it is pretty damn smooth. Hearing that the PS3 loads quite often, more so than the Vita version, but the graphics on Vita are slightly less detailed (makes sense) as a trade off.
I've heard some loading times have been added compared to the PS2 version. I've noticed Dressphere animations taking longer than I remember (not sure if Vita or PS3 footage though).
I'm currently playing through it on my youtube channel atm..and I will say, either it's been that damn long since I last played, or it does feel DS animations are fairly lengthier even on 'short' setting. Load times are about the same, sometimes quicker, it's only more obvious due to the 'new' loading screens. The INITIAL load of FFX-2 though was pretty damn long (about 40 seccondish) but my PS3 is 2nd hand so lol.
From what I'm hearing elsewhere, Japan of all places is having some pretty massive blowback over the 2.5 story. A mix of "wtf, no thanks" and "why is this necessary?" so maybe SE will hear this and pull back a bit.
Does the PS3 release have an install? The disc is 28gb as a whole so I'm curious wtf they did to massively bloat the file-size from what was originally two single-layered DVD games. I don't believe they remastered the FMVs to be 1080p hardly-compressed like FFXIII?
Still looks much cleaner than the PS2 release. Smaller screen than your HDTV so the lesser details would probably be hardly noticed if you're just playing the game, rather than keeping an eye out.
I don't speak JP, but you can tell what they're going for here
i hope theres enough backlash to say.. no X-3. we don't need one.. and from whats been said about the novella.. it seems even Lightning Returns isn't the worst that they can go in terms of scenario. XIII's setting went to shit really quickly.
listened to the remastered OST. some tracks aren't so bad but a good number feel amateurish, flat or not nearly as warm as the originals (i think the boss battle track is the best example). i'd like to know who rearranged them. they should add a patch to the game to use original music imo.
you can call it nostalgia, but the whole remaster business is banking on nostalgia anyway.. so its a bad thing to offend.
personally, i think SE needs to learn that they shouldn't change too much of a good thing. also, i believe a bunch of intangible game-making values have been lost with the last generation.. at least in this company.
FFX 2.75
Yuna wakes up suddenly in a cold sweat. There's a rustling next to her and the click of a lamp precedes the room filling with a soft light. The form next to her rolls over and places a hand on her arm. "Can't sleep?" Brother asks.
SE can save this yet!
As far as I'm concerned the novel is a huge troll. Half the things it apparently clarifies seem to clash with things that happen in the actual audio drama. Until I see a proper translation done by a trustworthy source it's a bunch of bs.
i think they'd be pretty stupid if they did that.
i mean.. there's a big difference between commercial sales and critical reception.. and generally, slapping Final Fantasy on the title kind of guarantees decent sales figures. most people will still want to try it, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth that damages the reputation of the brand - which is exactly what happened for FFXIV version 1.0. I don't think it did badly in terms of initial sales figures at all, but we all know how that turned out.
Personally I kind of wish they had touched some of the gameplay/interfaces up a little.
Like the blitzball interface, and some of the related gameplay. Would be nice if buffs/debuffs could have gotten icons next to names, ala FF13, instead of just text that you can only see when targeting party members, etc.
But I guess touch ups like those are more work than just "remastering" the soundtrack.
I'm enjoying it so far, anyway. Been ages since I played this game. Almost at the Moonflow. (*'-')
They're not going to cancel X-3 after teasing it in the remaster. At best they'll retcon the novel (which is the only part I'm having issues with).
What, there is going to be a 3?
There's an interview in the Ultimania book for X/X-2 with the writer, who said he wants there to be one. Anything past that is so far speculation, although the X-2.5 audio drama and novel have done little to inspire confidence that a 3rd title won't be another huge dump taken on the heads of FF fans.
Haven't gotten the PSV version yet..was delayed in shipping to me apparently :\
The FMVs does seem to be barely compressed but a lot of additional data is the Audio Drama, Remastered audio, higher res models, Last Mission and International content of both games etc, so the size does seem to add up a bit but it is still fairly bloated like all Square games seems to be lol.
