Just started and am on the road to Djose, spent a bunch of time playing a Blitzball league for a lv1 sphere for Kimahri to get Steal/Use and I'm getting used to this expert grid. Not sure if I wanna take Auron into Wakka's grid or not. I understand it makes him even more of a powerhouse but I'm torn. I was rolling with something like this http://www.skyrender.net/lp/ffx/sphere_grid.png but then I saw that if I go into Wakka's by level 30 he'll have +400 HP +10 atk +10 agi and +6 acc over his typical.

Small thing: you CAN backtrack and get the first primer in the base (one of the three missables) after you've left that screen. As long as you don't go past the second savepoint you're good.

Having played through most of FFX, I'm of the opinion that the songs where they used actual instruments and not a MIDI synthesizer sound better than the originals while the MIDI remixes all sound worse.

I do have to say, the Macalania Butterfly minigame for Kimahri's sigil is 100000000000x easier in HD.

About to hit the Thunder Plains in X soon. Took Yuna on a detour on the Sphere Grid to pick up the -ra spells after getting Life. She's now doing more damage than Lulu, using the same Spell. \o/

Is Reflex = Reflect, or what does that do?

Yuna also has that +3% +5% staff that you get from the Besaid Destruction Sphere so her stats are pretty great.

I'm just doing normal. The game isn't hard enough to justify needing extra stats at the beginning. By the time I do endgame, everyones gonna be all over the place anyway.

Didn't try Fira, but Lulu does ~1000 dmg using Watera on a Thunder Elemental and Yuna does ~1250dmg. This is nice, because they have 1200 HP.

I gave Yuna Firaga with a special black magic node and she does 5000 dmg vs Lulu's 2480~ on the plant mobs in Gagazet... So yeah I guess Yuna's magic is significantly higher.

You don't have to move Yuna there necessarily, if you can grab enough black magic spheres you can just wait until Lulu learns the -ga spells and then grab them for Yuna.

And yeah the only thing I hate about this game is that the group doesn't get split enough, and so you have to keep swapping 7 people around if you want them all to level.

But at the same time I love swapping because I hate how I'll have 3 favorites in other games and never touch the others. While I do that here as well, swapping is so easy to get the ap share.

That's not how ffx has ever worked. You only got exp for people who did an action in the fight.

Dumb question on that. Say Tidus does an action, then goes splat, and I raise him. Does he need to perform another action to get exp or is his previous action still counted?

That said, god damn is it boring as shit leaving one mob up, and then having the "scrubs" do a non mp skill to get their action in before finishing off the last mob.

Yes you can do that. Don't need to do another action after raise. Also, Defend counts as an action (Triangle)
