Like Heavensward (and them saying it's basically 2.0 all over again) and people fell all over themselves to spend $130-$300 on an expansion, people will buy this np, especially the PC version if/when it comes because at least then you can mod it and make it a "different" game like the various FFVII mods.

The physical collector's edition is $130 USD. The digital collector's edition is $60 USD. The expansion itself is $40 USD. Just another guy on the internet exaggerating and misleading to try to further whatever narrative they're pushing. There was a kerfuffle about the pricing of the EU and Australian versions of the expansion, so people were angry about paying more for the CE of an MMO expansion they pay $15 a month for to get a dragon statue and some digital items.

While I may not agree with how pricing and currency conversions work or how SquareEnix decides to run their business, people just love to complain. So they remastered a popular game and are now putting it on as many platforms as they can. Outrageous. You own it already? Don't buy it (unless you want to). You can emulate the PS2 version? Great, do that (with lower quality textures). I hope that people react the same way when they announce the PC version of the remaster of this and KH. Hopefully they have another collector's edition and charge a ridiculous price for it. That'll be glorious.

Also, a lot of people did not have PS3s from last generation. Went from xbox 360 to ps4. They might want something like this. Why does everyone have to be so negative towards SE all the time?
