Kinda crazy a rerelease so many years later is pretty much full price. Or in this case is the full price the game originally was. I love the game and I'm still buying it. Just would have been nice to see the price maybe $10 lower.

Saw the stream and compared some of the loading times on the video to the ps3 version.


I didn't notice anything major graphics wise. Loading times differences are night and day and i'm assuming they are using a stock HDD for the PS4.

Title Selection screen (Selecting FFX then waiting for the FFX project logo to appear) is down from 24 seconds (PS3) to 10 (PS4)
Changing zones is down from 5 seconds (PS3) to 1 second (PS4), yaaaaay
Changing to a zone that starts with a cutscene (Dark Valefor) is down from 10 seconds (PS3) to 5 seconds (PS4)

Oh and FUCK I never knew you could soft reset the game with R1/L1 + R2/L2 + Select/Start. This would have saved me so much time during the stupid X-2 coin tournament.

pretty sure you can do that in every FF game since FF7. for nintendo its A+B instead of L R, and if theres no L2, R2 or Select, then you just press whatever is available. its pretty useful, altho not as significant for newer games that allow you to just go back to the title screen in the pause menu.

While I suspect the SE guy wasn't making that much of an effort, it was kind of aggravating watching him fight against Penance considering how slow/indecisive he was.

That certainly made me remember how much I hated having to scroll through the entire ability list to select Quick Hit. On every single turn.

To be honest, I'm not sure, but if there was one, it probably would have saved me a lot of time in the summer of 2002.

There is a cursor option in the settings where you set it to remember, pretty sure it's had that since the beginning. Guy turned it on more than half way into the stream.

I'll probably buy it when it gets marked down to 20 for ffx-2. I never finished it on PS3 and the improved load times + ps4 controller makes it worth 20 bucks.

My eyes are sensitive to bright light so I would've preferred the JP theme. Blitzball theme is cool but has too many bright colors.
