quite frankly i'm surprised people didn't grasp it was intentional in the first place. i thought the scene was very natural. i mean, i was certainly covering my ears at how bad it sounded, but i was laughing at the same time because it fit the scene perfectly.

This; it's also exactly as awkward in the Japanese version.

Yeah I think the "internet boom" changed it more than anything. Back when it was a fairly new game a lot of people realized it was intentional, but then when it became "a meme" so to speak, is when it started getting "this is badly done" opinions, especially after certain critic reviews of it. The whole tone of the early game kind of made it obvious there's an awkward atmosphere, especially between Tidus and Yuna.

None I'd imagine. If it's running off the same engine most of the recent FF ports have it's not very moddable.

The main thing I'd hope for is better fps, but considering SE's general lack of competency in PC coding it wouldn't expect anything other then a straight port of the PS4 version.

FF7 has been moded to the moon and back again three times and it probably shows just how good modding a ff game can be when it comes to the right people. Tot saying there isn't anything as a bad FF7 mod just its a good example of when people care about something that good things can happen. If 10-2 can be modded in any way it would probably just be lewd dresses and naked field models.

Fuck blitzball. Whenever I was forced to do it, I'd just score once then place my character behind the net until it timed out.

FF7 has alot of good mods, can bring the game up to the point that graphics aren't giving you eye cancer and actually quite decent.

If that's true, I'd be surprised.

I looked around for mods when the steam version came out and all I found was a mish mash of models that make the game look inconsistent as hell, with some characters with high poly-count and AC models (Oh, god, WHY?!) while the enemies are left as is, and what's worse, some of them had different styles between characters. To be honest, it made the game look worse and very amateurish, I'd rather play the game with the original models instead.

If they made progress with that I'll probably look again and do a play through for the first time in 15+ years.

Yeah I was gonna say, any ff7 mods I've seen only replaced a few models leaving the backgrounds and rest of the models to look like shit. If there is a more complete mod pack please share it, been dying to replay the game but would rather wait for the remake if I can't even get the most basic quality of life mod to work.
