Wasn't the remastered soundtrack shittier than the OST? I listened to a few tracks and they sounded so much worse.

Many are worse, but some are legitmately better, although everything is objective. Someday the Dream will End sounds excellent in the remaster, as does Calm Before the Storm and People of the Far North. Even the boss theme isnt bad; at least comparable to the original.

Introducing live instruments sometimes enhances a song, but sometimes takes away, especially for us old-head gamers who grew up loving sweet synth tunes. the HD FFX is enhanced in some songs by live instruments instead of synth, but in some areas, the synth sounded much more organic or just better.

One example that I always bring up is Wutai from FFVII. I have yet to hear a superior version to the original in 20 years because I, personally, am obsessed with the synth sound in the "refrain" section of the song. Every remake completely takes that sound away and tries to introduce another instrument into it, and it always sounds like nails on a blackboard to me.

Looks like they actually included a decent number of graphic options, guess they have actually been learning from the XIII series ports.

Yes it is. Definitely significantly better than upscaled PS2 emulation. Have to head into work for a couple hours but I'll post a few comparison shots when I get back.
