The last I heard was Pac agreed to blood tests but none within the last 2 weeks before the fight. Mayweather wants tests being possible up until a few days before or something shorter like that

why the fuck should he have to do Olympic tests - it's insulting. 2 weeks before the fight has been good enough for years and years, but suddenly for this fight, it's not good enough and he needs to jump through some mayweather hoops. There has never been any evidence manny has used any substances.

Pacquiao has agreed to the blood-tests but he doesn't want to take it within 24 days of the fight where he feels it'll weaken him.

It's pretty much Mayweather ducking the fight or the boxing committee wants to milk Manny and Mayweather fights till the perfect time for them to have the must see fight. I don't know when that will be but i do know after these 2 do fight and 1 emerge as the victor, the boxing scene will be pretty much done since there no one else to fight on their level.

Neither guy is pushing for the fight and only Manny nuthuggers pretend otherwise. Bob Arum (Pacquaio's manager and genuine scumbag) has only sent Pacman against limited or older fighters who had shown serious signs of weakness in recent history (Cotto, Margarito, Hatton, De La Hoya, Clottey, and Mosley were all coming off losses or brutal knockouts two or three fights prior), and he knows, anyone with boxing knowledge knows, Mayweather's style is kryptonite to Manny's. It's far from a sure bet but if anyone in the world is going to derail the industry Pacquiao has become and make him look bad it'll be Floyd.

Floyd on the other hand knows there is a significant chance he'll lose, he makes 30-40 million a fight and a lot of that comes from the 0 at the end of his record. People pay to watch him lose and be shorn of his aura of invincibility, and if he loses he ain't making 30 million a fight anymore.

Both guys are getting paid, advancing their legacies and build enough interest in all their bouts for the public to buy them. If they really wanted to fight they would settle the blood-testing controversies (which all of Floyd's other opponents have agreed to mind you) but neither one really does. I think it'll get squared away sooner or later, but there just aren't compelling enough reasons for either of them to risk it at the moment . Before Arum Pac would fight anyone, anywhere, but those days are long over, and Floyd has never felt the need to fight someone he didn't want to fight.

lol I mean he pretty much said Floyd doesn't want to fight him because he knows he might lose. That's basically saying he's afraid to fight him, and yeah pretty much what I think is the case. All because Floyd don't want a loss.

Pac would humiliate him in the ring, especially if he taunts. I hope this fight happens.

it's almost pointless to discuss it because Mayweather is so hated and Pacquaio so beloved, but Pacman never agreed to random blood testing up to the day of the fight from the same officiating body Mayweather uses. And, again, all of Mayweather's other opponents agreed to the testing regime and Mayweather himself undergoes it.

Not saying Manny is roiding but if the situation was reversed and the fight didn't happen because Floyd didn't want to undergo the testing all Olympic athletes do the public would crucify him. But hey, Manny has a winning smile right. Ignore his confirmed adulteries and the lovechild he had with a prostitute and keep pretending he's a squeaky-clean guy.

Most of what the public heard we heard from Arum himself, he is the one framing the debate and telling everyone what is going on in the private discussions, and without equivocation Bob Arum is a fucking scumbag liar and it's sad the public has fallen so completely for the narrative he's spewing

"Manny has taken the position that he would agree to unlimited testing," Arum said. "It is a non-f------ issue."

Then, Arum being Arum, proceeded to contradict himself a moment later.

"The testing would have to be done by WADA, which means when Manny trains in the Philippines, whoever they use in Asia to do the testing would do it," Arum said. "When Manny is training in the United States, they would use USADA. WADA gets the agency to supervise the testing in the Philippines. But the point is, it all has to be done under the overall authority of the boxing commission wherever you have the fight."

So, drug testing is still a stumbling block – just a different one than we heard about in the past. Previously, the issue was whether Pacquiao would agree to Mayweather’s tougher-than-usual drug testing demands. Now, clearly the problem is which organization will be permitted to conduct the testing. It’s still a drug testing-related concern, fully capable of potentially destroying the match, just in a different wrapper.

This minor but very telling inconsistency is typical of Arum. About a month ago, he famously told Michael Marley that money was no longer a problem in a potential dream fight between his guy and Mayweather because both agreed to split everything down the line, 50-50. Then, Pacquiao, while doing press with Marquez, said the complete opposite – that Mayweather was demanding far too much money.

In an age where MMA fighters get busted all the time and baseball collapsed under the weight of steroid abuse I'm never going to get pissed off at more stringent screening.

Either guy could be the bigger man and just say ok on this minor, quibbling issue of the testing window and split the money 50-50. But that's the point, neither guy is fully, 100% committed to pursuing the fight. Neither needs to.

lolz, for the record i'd root for Manny if/when they fight. i'm a huge fan of his fighting style, he's the most spectacular offensive force boxing has seen since Tyson, i'm just tired of the bullshit and the ignorance.

frustrated boxing has descended to this. the two greatest fighters of this generation won't fight each other because of money and steroid testing.

I think Floyd would have won in the end anyway. The rematch needs to happen ASAP.
2 of the 3 judges had the fight 3-0 Mayweather, and 1 had it 2-1 Mayweather

Floyd was unloading combinations in that round that I haven't seen since he was in the 130's

At the end of the day, Ortiz brought a fucking street move to the fight (one of many intentional headbutts, the others weren't showcased by HBO, but they were all very similar in how Ortiz did them, with the leaping in bullrush of his head)
Mayweather gave this kid a huge fucking payday and after the headbutt that busted his lip open, he's probably like, ok motherfucker, you wanna disrespect me like that?

Shitty the fight ended so quickly, I can't say I wanted it to end that way, but I also can't say that I fault Floyd for what he did. Motherfucker INTENTIONALLY headbutted him and busted his lip open in two spots, the fuck if you want him to just accept Ortiz's empty apology like he really fucking meant it? Oh, and the point deduction? The motherfucking point deduction doesn't fix my busted up lip.

I fault only Ortiz here, and Cortez indeed did bring them to the center of the ring, say "Let's go!", Motion his hands together signalling to fight, and said "TIME IN" to the ring-side time keeper.

    Haters gonna hate, 42-0.
