Heavy metal plates are an entirely different level of stupidity that I can't really understand at this point. The only thing I can possibly say is that perhaps they have plans for the future to either make them much easier to acquire or to make the upgrade worth the cost. I'm thinking about how ridiculously difficult it seemed to get a level 80 Empyrean weapon when Visions first came out, and how incredibly useless they seemed for that seemingly large amount of work (all they had was high DMG), and then that "a ha" moment when Scars and Heroes released, the level cap increased further, and the weapon skills and aftermaths were added. Perhaps plates and pouches will be standard drops off low tier Voidwatch in the next update, and various kinds of procs will make them even easier to obtain, and perhaps the stats on the level 99 weapon will make the upgrade worthwhile. For now, yes, it seems dumb.

About Heavy Metal Plates, it is possible that the next installment of Voidwatch will make them more common, but what about when people have to get 2,000-4,000 of whatever stupid drop rate shit to get level 99 Empyrean Weapons? And then later when they make another end-game system specifically for level 99 and people gleefully abandon Voidwatch? This update frightens me with its sheer lack of foresight.

Only thing I can think of when it comes to the plates is that they eventually want to make the lv. 99 empyreal weapons extremely rare, with the majority of owners having the lv 85 and 90 versions. That and the supply issue causing players to essentially pick which weapon they plan on taking to 99, rather than expect to have all their weapons at that level.

As for adding other locations for plates to drop, don't count on it. How long have people bitched that alexandrite doesn't drop in Nyzul?

I thought there was an update note/dev tracker post before this update saying WHM will be able to remove Amnesia with success rates similar to removing Doom with Cursna. What happened with that?

They probably meant for the next update, not this last one.

The rare/ex bodies are ridiculously rare, yes, but if they weren't, the existence of crafted versions would be entirely pointless.

I think they did a better job with the bodies this update. Last update the bodies were side-grades or very situational upgrades for the most part, and so without the maxed out stats on the rare/ex version, they were kinda pointless. This time they went with fairly or completely unique stats (at least on Heka's and Mekira), which makes even the NQ/HQ crafted versions worthwhile and sought after (NQ cure body sells on my server for 4-5 million, same for NQ Mekira body). Ocelomeh, while not as unique, can still be good too.

The new bodies are worthwhile but some of the low-mid tier drops are underwhelming and barely compete with Abyssean drops.
