    Base Combat SP Chart

    http://i52.tinypic.com/wlwxlc.jpg

These SP values represent the SP you will receive fighting a monster of this rank solo when the monster is equal to your rank.

I decided to continue Kaeko's project since he has moved onto other things and doesn't have the time to persue it anymore. I tried to create my chart in the image of his by using the same color scheme for SP values as well as the same level ranges. I tried to increase readability by separating it into 2 pieces so the text isn't so small and difficult to read. I also changed the layout to alphabetical order so you can locate the family you want information on easier.

As you can see many values are empty. This is because the values of those boxes are still unknown by me and/or a monster of that family in that range is currently not in the game. Those boxes will get updated once there is a known value to enter.

If you know any base values that are not in the chart please send me a PM with said value and I will update the chart as soon as I can. If you have any suggestions for the chart feel free to let me know as well via a PM or here in this thread.

**Lots of Credit for this information goes to Kaeko and his gathering of many base SP values. You can find much more detailed information about SP and party multipliers and many other facets of the game here at his blog http://kanican.livejournal.com/ **

I'm gonna make this post just an update log of changes I make to the chart. I will only change things that actually make sense to change.

    Update Log:
9/19/11 - Updated visibility by removing ??? blocks and adjusting color of empty boxes.
9/19/11 - Updated family names per Mio's request

Thanks for your work. For readability, I would suggest changing the yellow ??? boxes to white background or some other higher-contrast color.

I really have nothing much to add besides trying to streamline the naming of mob types. If in doubt, I would probably base the name on the drops that mobs yield since they usually give a more general name for the entire family and drop from almost all types.

    • "Eft" is the type, Salamanders are a subtype but don't yield different exp.

    • "Sheep" is probably preferred since Rams/Ewe/etc. are subtypes that give the same exp. Karakul might be different, but I doubt it.

    • Also, I am pretty sure all "Humanoid" mobs give the same amount of exp, despite them being pirates, bandits, poachers, assassins, etc. so those could probably be all grouped without issue.

    • Phurble is the name of a specific mob, "Snurble" is the type.

    • "Miteling" might be a better way to name the small diremites. Maybe?

    • I think the Flan mob type is actually "Pudding."

    • I think Toads are considered "Gigantoad."

    • Roselings' mob type is "Landtrap."

    • I would call Sabotender "Cactuar."

Have you actually determined if the following types/subtypes differ in exp or not? (assuming there are any overlap in level range at all)

    Antelope/Stag
    Rat/Marmot/Mouse/Squirrel
    Slug/Hare
    Red/Blue Landtrap
    Angler/Orobon
    Bee/Midge Swarm
    Coblyn/Doblyn
    Red/Blue Funguar
    Mongrel/Wolf
    Mole/Hedgemole
    Ladybug/Beetle
    Red/Black Bomb

Thanks for the feedback Mio. I'll try to get those names updated. I was just using monster race names off both YG and what Kaeko used in his chart. As far as antelope and stag etc yielding different base SPs I will have to research. For now I updated the chart and removed the ??? blocks, is it easier to read this way?

Sorry I haven't been active much lately, been a busy couple of months.

Thanks to Arximiro for continuing the project. I can see these numbers becoming very useful in the future should the game actually become popular on PS3 release.

Also, my chart is pretty unreadable. I even admit to this and ask for readability improvements in my OP. So I think any recommendations on pure-readability are warranted. The original table I provided deserves an overhaul.

Also, Arx, PM me a workable email and I will send you my master-XIV excel file.

    EDIT:
SP values are actually more complex than being determined by family and level. As an example:
    Kedtrap (55-59) has a base of 88
    Eyetrap (55-59) has a base of 75
That means 2 mobs of same family and level have 2 different bases. That means these charts only indicate a TREND, but to truly know the base SP of all mobs, you must specifically test all mobs.

This part of the notes makes me think that most of these values are going to be incorrect soon...

"As the variance in strength between enemies has been reduced (see below), enemy type will not influence EXP yield.
    * The exception to the above is those enemies deemed extremely weak or strong."

    Initial testing @ Amal'jaa camp

    R25: 648 (+100%)
    R38: 1128 (+100%)
    R46: 768 (+100%)

Conclusion: there's a definite sweetspot for mobs still, at around -10 ranks for the mob you're fighting. PLing things too strong results in less, being too strong yourself results in less. Looks pretty balanced to me. You could hop on and PL with 50s if you wanted, but it would be optimal to fight mobs of the appropriate level. I think people are just blinded by the pure numbers and instantly think PL'ing is OP.

Sounds about right, was on my lvl 40 getting 800-1000 a kill depending on bonus. LvL 30 was 600-800. LvL 50 was 400-500.
