Actually, if you were even paying half attention to it then you would have noticed that they explicitly pointed out that Bobby could not come back as a ghost because they burned his bones

It's been explicitly said and done in the show several times that a person who was cremated can and does become a ghost

If I were to take a guess and Bobby really did stay, it's because of the flask which they have flouted about this whole episode.

One of my favorite episodes is Mystery Spot, so I don't mind when Supernatural is funny. In fact, I think that Supernatural can do humor very well. This was just not a good or amusing episode, in my opinion.

Yeah, this really wasn't an episode to use the "I guess I just have a sense of humor" card. It just felt like a really bland, boring, generic episode.
Also; why wasn't Sam afraid of clowns the other times they ran into them? Or was he just afraid of that 1 particular clown? and how would he ever become afraid of that clown? his whole side story that episode was just lame. especially with the way they kept flashforwarding to that fight. Nothing else interesting was happening, so they had to keep flashing that scene in the viewers face.

and seconding Epysian's comment. Supernatural can be very funny and theyve even done entire episodes that were wacky but really great. This just wasn't one of them. I remember laughing pretty good at the "well, i'll be able to see him coming at least" comment when talking about the robot.
