Used a TM to teach it that.
Where you get TMs at? only see stones in the poke mart
Click on the pokemon in the status screen right before you start a level
ah damn, guess it's time to farm mount moon 2, seems to be good money there
Okay finally got past Cerulean 1. This was my setup.
Charmeleon 25 - Dragon Rage (Middle)
Gloom 23 - Giga Drain (Left Bottom)
Pikachu 23 - Thunderbolt/Thunder Wave (Left Top)
Butterfree 23 - Solarbeam (Right Bottom)
Magnemite 19 - Thunderbolt/Thunder Wave (Right Top)
Basically once the Goldeen's started coming in, I had Pikachu/Magnemite start with Thunder Wave and then switch to Thunderbolt. I was even able to kill the Staryus like this. The Starmies got through but there weren't enough of them to take all the Rare Candy.
There a quicker way to change moves?
Kyogre heals faster than I can damage him @_@ Guess I gotta grind more. Unless theres some secret to him other than slowing him down with Thunder wave and attacking endlessly?
I beat it pretty easily with graveler's rollout and pikachu using thunderbolt. Pikachu was underleveled I remember, but geodude or graveler was almost even with my starter.
I beat him with a Lv23 Raichu and Lv26 Charmeleon, Thunderbolt and Dragon rage endlessly.
I just evolved my Raichu, but holy shit Screech ruins him. Thanks!
For Cerulean I had Butterfree using String Shot and Pikachu using electroball on the left and then Gloom using Stun Spore and Charmeleon using Dragon Rage on the right. In the middle I had Graveler with Rock Blast (can get a shiney one from the first challenge). Made easy work of it. Kyogre required switching someone in to def down him occasionally, but apart from that it wasn't bad. Then came the bridge was was pretty awful...
For Celadon, since the normal Pokemon always follow a pattern (top left, bottom left, bottom right, top right if I remember correctly), I would always have my Charizard (fire blast), Pidgeot (wing attack), and Gyarados (ice fang) on the sides where they'd be coming from. Butterfree (string shot) would be waiting at the next one for whenever came there while my team was dealing with the previous group. I think the order was Oddish family from the top left, Bellsprout family from the bottom left, Bellsprout family from the bottom right, Oddish family from the top right. Each of these was followed by a Celebi. Don't remember the exact order of the following wave, but you have to deal with all three evolutions of Bulbasaur in the last few waves. Think they all followed the same order but Venasaur which only had two waves.
Alright, went for an offensive approach w/ Cerulean and was able to win.
Top Left: Raticate focus energy + crunch
Top Right: Mankey Focus energy + Karate Chop
Middle: Weepinbell Growth + Vine Whip
Bottom Left: Magnemite Thundershock
Bottom Right: Pikachu Thundershock.
Only things that got through were Starme and when I had to rebuff buffs.
Weepinbell growth + vine whip and Mankey screech, focus energy, karate chop made Kyogre look pathetic
I'm having problems with Lavender Townand I got to wave 16/16 on Celadon's challenge, but they give you crappy pokes to use. x.x
Yeah, I do wish you could see the whole playing field at all times instead of having to scroll around.
On a side note, didn't know Gyarados had Ice Fang, I might have to get on that. Been meaning to find something with a decent ice move. Shame there's no record of move lists for this anywhere.

click pokemon for all their moves/TMs they can learn.
How do you beat challenge 3 for the pokedex? Got a couple charmanders then the geodudes stopped flowing and the manders weren't doing a good job after the dudes self destructed vs the vileplumes
Having trouble beating Cerulean, capturing Abra.
